Rolling it the same way, holding it the same way each time, you've got much higher odds of rolling the same number than 1/6!
This is not true except for very obvious trickery like placing the die.
If the dice "roll" in any meaningful way the outcome is completely random (except some die may favour some outcomes because of weight and balance issues). Even the tiniest variations in where they land, how they're held, and how they're thrown, create massive differences in outcomes. It's not possible to change the odds through consistency, that's the whole point of things like dice or double pendulums or any other such chaotic system.
That's the explanation I think it's correct. Otherwise it's a 1 in like... 46.6k odds? Not impossible, but certainly is an odd time to hit a minor jackpot.
