Such BS. Let’s pretend it’s a good rule. States run their elections.
By changing something as foundational as the envelope; or if it will be delivered; or if a single incorrect ballot invalidates thousands of votes is the main problem.
Having the system as it is in protecting the voting system.
But the parrots keep talking about fraud and they are only holding crackers.
Let's not forget that there's been decades of USPS carrying ballots without interfering. Changing that precedent now is most definitely infringing on State authority to operate elections.
Conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote a short concurring opinion, saying "there is at least a fair prospect that the final rule falls within the Postal Service's statutory authority."
Just a reminder so we don't feel too good. Brett Devil's Triangle Kavanaugh thinks it's perfectly acceptable for the post office to be in charge of US elections. Even though it is clearly a states right to manage their elections.
I guess Kavenaugh, Kagan, and Barrett didn't get big enough bribes.
I think it's much simpler than that. They like the idea of a very powerful president because a powerful presidency is the only way to get unpopular conservative positions enacted. But they also really don't want things going to full-on dictatorship. Why? Because in a full dictatorship, the court is just as powerless as the legislature.

Maybe it's just my distrust of the whole thing, but I wouldn't put it past them to do this just for plausible deniability, while the post office still rejects everything they can in accordance to trump's wishes.. That way people will trust mail in voting, and end up with their votes rejected anyway. They get exactly what they want while still giving some illusion of fairness.
Then, after the elections they'll just say whoops! USPS shouldn't have done that, and nothing will happen.

It is a dumb game of it hasn't happened yet.
Like you can apparently plan to subvert an election, put in policies to make it happen, and then execute those policies but until the harm has been generated no foul. It is beyond stupid.
