It's likely not the cause but a symptom or collateral damage.
It's probably just one of the things that no longer works when it disconnects.
This is usually caused when the carrier signal hops - if your ipv4 stays stable you wouldn't even notice. It can also be caused by lease renewal - some carriers allow a max of 24 hours
Personally i'd disable remote updates anyway because i don't let anyone control my tech but me

That's usually controlled by your isp, mught be worth dropping them a question or two
