Everybody seems to like Mucha, - me too! - so here's more. It's an ad for an 1899 production of Hamlet.

The featured actress was Sarah Bernhardt, from France, who I gather was fairly famous in the late 1800s and early 1900s. While primarily a stage actress, she also appeared in very early films, as early as 1895.

Bernhardt was also a talented sculptor. This is one of her works, "Après la Tempête" (After the Storm).

I mean yeah, who doesn't love his work? I've never met one.

In the comic Lucky Luke, there is a joke that Sarah Bernhardt was an awful actress.

It turns out that she's really a bad actress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBspkWIdcAI

Aside from Bernhardt, I remember hearing that some silent film movie stars failed to make the transition to talkies, because despite being successful actors up until that point, they had bad voices, and it didn't work out once their speech became part of the film performance.
