* There is a 'safety' margin there. I did not set it exactly at zero so I always have a little more than is shown.
What sort of setup do you have to track the water level of your well? One of my greatest fears is my well running dry. (Also snakes, which I'm sure the well is also full of.)

I made my own solution and i'm satisfied with it. I'ts been running for 4+ months without issues. Since the well lies 20 meters from the house, It has it's own power source and communicate over WiFi
The best (but also priciest) is a throw-in IP67 water pressure sensor. It sinks to the bottom and you can do a bit of math to decode water level from pressure level.

Then just attach it to an AD1115 and an ESP32-C3 or C6 via a 12-36V supply (Like so) and voila a esphome WiFi/thread water level sensor (put it in a watertight box though). There are also ready made ones but more expensive.
It doesn't have the usual problems from wireless sonar and lidar methods. TDR wired sensors are overkill and should only really be used for chemicals.

I recently looked at a house. Unfortunately its water came from its own well. This wouldn't always be an issue for me, but the property was completely surrounded by fields. Whatever they spray those fields with is bound to get into the well, and fuuuuuuck that.
I get you point. That's not a risk here, thought I once got real angry with my brother in law (who lived with us for a while) for trying to wash his car on the premises
In the last 6 weeks or so, we've had maybe 3 days with zero rain and a couple where we had a sizable chunk with no rain. We've also had more rainy days than average going back further. I can't access my fields and lost at least a few pepper plants already. There's never enough time with light, heat, and low humidity to do anything about it. I am losing my mind.
