I started a project around a decade ago to replace Google with the Dewey Decimal System. Academic research showed Google responsible for putting active shooters in echo chambers and feeding them false information, covering up historical events, keeping information away from certain classes of people, etc.

The OCLC is very protective of DDS, and sues anyone who tries to use it (including a library themed party, if memory serves correctly). I reached out to them and pretty much had to shut my project down before it even got off the ground.

I've created a new system, but can't find any of the original YouTube content I included on my original "Why" page.

One of the videos was of Google feeding active shooters racist information and consistently sending them into echo chambers of racist online content. The other was Google hiding historical social contributions from PoC and then outright denying they were doing it -- reported by a watchdog group. I'd also like to include one of how echo chambers formed by algorithms can be a dangerous thing.

I've put several queries into Google and YouTube regarding shooter radicalization through Google, and the content no longer shows up. I've looked for the negatives of using Google, the political influence Google has, and all I'm getting is articles throwing blame somewhere else. It's as if Google went on an active cleanup campaign.
