31 grams of fat is nothing tho. Fat is not why fastfood is unhealthy.

Truth, though I wonder how many grams of carbohydrates do you suppose that “bread” has?

They’re probably right for the wrong reason.

[-] ryannathans@aussie.zone 6 points 17 hours ago

It's bread, the whole thing is almost carbs

[-] LilB0kChoy@reddthat.com 6 points 16 hours ago

That’s why I put “bread” in quotes. I was poking fun at the court ruling about subway’s bread not being bread legally because of the amount of flour weight that was sugar.

[-] ryannathans@aussie.zone 3 points 16 hours ago

Iirc that was Ireland ruling "bread" can't be more than 2% fat or sugar

2% total weight of flour, and Subway’s was 10%.

That means Brioche is also not considered bread in Ireland.

Bit meaningless this whole thing. Go to France and everything is considered bread.

It was a jokey, throwaway comment that wasn’t intended to have a lot of depth or promote introspection, so you’re right. Continuing the discussion is meaningless, yet here we are.

Not when you dip a stick of it in sugar and eat it that way. The butter cancels out the sugar and it becomes a super food.

It’s possibly not the worst thing, but it does contribute to poor health regardless. Plus, 31g is not to be sniffed at.

I used to really like subway like 15 years ago.

[-] TheGreyGhost@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 hours ago

It was a solid choice for food, now it's not.

[-] restingOface@quokk.au 2 points 18 hours ago

If the whole sandwich is measured in inches, shouldn't the ingredients be measured in pounds? If I know what inches are, how am I supposed to know what grams are???

Oh, it’s not me, that’s what the source has it written in. I guess it’s because subway uses inches, but the rationally minded use grams

You around circle the carbs. That's what makes you fat.
