The day before the Saturday the war started, Oman mediators said "great progress and concessions from Iran were made to be finalized in next meeting on Monday". It's over $100B in extra fuel costs for Americans, They are hiding the military restoration costs until after the mid terms, and no one is questioning Pentagon's report that GCC bases won't be rebuilt, and unlikely for those client states to keep investing in America.

How the fuck would he know? His cheap ass never pays for anything.
When was the last time this fuck paid for anything himself? He has no goddamn idea
No thank you.
Haha, suckers. I walk to work and only drive my car one day per week and only around ten miles round trip. Glad you got to own the libs for the fascist asshole who doesn't give one shit about you. It's pretty cool how you won't be able to afford your bills and gas and rent but at least your idiot strongman pissed off the people you don't like.
And your work uses no gas to function? No work cars? No shipping? What about your food prices?
But… WHY do we have to pay it?
Just a reminder that the extra money you pay for expensive petroleum products actually goes to the petroleum industries, not to some special "war effort" fund. You're not making a sacrifice for the benefit of the common good (supposing you view an unprovoked attack on a smaller nation as a 'common good'), you're making a sacrifice for Big Oil shareholders.

Chart from "Revealed: major oil firms make $93bn profits amid war and climate crisis," The Guardian
“But that’s going to come tumbling down,” he added, referring to gas prices. “That’s going to be like rocket ships in reverse.”
"I will build a great, great wall on our southern border. And I will have Mexico pay for that wall."
"He’s not going into Ukraine, OK, just so you understand."
"Now, the virus that we’re talking about having to do — you know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat — as the heat comes in. Typically, that will go away in April. We’re in great shape though. We have 12 cases — 11 cases, and many of them are in good shape now."
Rocket ships in reverse seems to describe our economy lately
He decides and we pay? We're not supposed to have a King, we're supposed to have a legislature of representatives and senators, one of whose jobs is deciding whether to go to war. I have no idea what the democrats are going to do when they get back in office, but Trump has shown us that the checks and balances are little more than a voluntary agreement able to be ignored by the president as desired. The US Executive Branch needs a constitutional neutering.
It's not that the checks and balances have no power, it's that Republicans control all branches of government and refuse to stop him. They only work if they are used
I understand you think that's a distinction, I consider it one without much difference. If Repubs refuse to check him, then there are no checks on his power.
That's not how a system works. If I get on the freeway and rear end another car it's not because my car doesn't have brakes. My car does, but I just didn't use them.
It's very important to understand that congress could stop this at any moment. They have the power to do so. The check is still there. However the majority supports all of this.
If the check is not used, it doesn't matter whether it's there or not. The republicans inaction can be simply explained via oligarchy or plutocracy and the wealth divide.
Isn't the simplest explanation that these representatives agree with the actions? No need to overly complicate it.
Then you pay it, fuckface. Subsidize all gas from your personal billions, you corrupt, greedy, narcissistic, pedophile. That's all you'd have to do to get approval ratings above 40% again, but you won't, because your greed outweighs your pride. You actively hurt people because your wrath outweighs your sloth. Don't think for a second that we haven't noticed your gluttony, your lust, and your envy. There has never been a greater candidate for the antichrist. I hope there is a hell just for this rotten pile of hate to burn in torment there for eternity. The world truly would have been a better place if Donald John Trump had never been born. The damage is done, so there's no point in advocating for violence against him now, but it's notable because there are so few people in history that that can be said about. Humans in totality are worse off for the birth and life lead by a select few real monsters. He is one of them.
I wish fear and sorrow and anguish upon him for every breath he takes so that he may feel some fraction of the pain he has inflicted upon everybody who was forced to share the planet with him. Not for vengeance, but for some semblance of justice that I don't believe he will ever face. God have as much mercy on his soul as he has had for anybody other than himself.
Then you pay it
No, he fucked people getting involved with that, too.
The "freedom fuel" company he kept pushing sold over $4m wholesale cost in fuel, then paid for about 750k of it. My numbers may be slightly off. It was a significant loss for more than a couple businesses.
If you do business with him, you should not be surprised when you are left holding the bill.
People loved the antichrist.
Pay for our fuel from your personal fortune then. Much has been stolen from taxpayers and we want it back. For starters free gas for everyone for putting up with your bullshit for almost 6 years now.
If only it was six years.
Fuck free gas, the oil needs to stay in the ground.
Even if it were "very inexpensive," why would Americans want to pay anything for this war?
What are we getting out of this war?
Well we all forgot about Epstein. I mean, I didn’t and you didn’t, but maybe someone with early onset Alzheimer’s will? Probably not though…
Keep saying it, asshole. When the average hits $7.50 a gallon in six weeks, you're going to need a lot of people to buy into this.
Prices are the least of our worries, there will be shortages.
Tiny d donnie is stupid enough to believe that all of his collaborationist media can run cover for something like the cost of gasoline, diesel (and everything else is tied to these, so good luck trying to cover all that up, too).
It's shaking even his zombie-like cult out of their stupor, apparently.
Just today I heard about an IRL run-in with a now-apparently-former donnie cult member. Dude was raging out to the wife about all the stupid shit donnie is up to. Well, duh, you don't have to tell her about it, but this dude voted for donnie 3x as far as I know. From what I can tell, it was mostly about the economy because this dude is getting reamed by donnie. I don't think he said anything about donnie tackling gardeners and disappearing them or attacking trans, and science, etc...
wait until you guys learn youre still paying less than every other country that kept to the kyoto accords.
We also drive significantly more on average because our country gave up on public transit nearly 50 years before I was even born. The costs hit a whole lot harder when there's no public transit option to rely on.
I'd love to commute by bus or train in the US. It's how I've been commuting in Germany and its fantastic. The price is negligible compared to what I had to pay to drive a car to work, and that's pre-Iran war.
Anyway, I guess the point is when gas rises sharply it hurts the average person way more when you have to drive with no other options available.
What's the point of a comment like this BTW? It seems unnecessarily decisive. We all know this is Trump's fault and that's the point of the post. To point out how callous our government is being to the average person that our suffering does not matter. Blame those in power, blame those that enabled this sack of shit, but why try to create unnecessary division? We shouldn't make this a competition on who's suffering the most. That answer is going to be the people from the poorest nations that cannot outbid wealthy nations for the remaining oil supply
What's the point of a comment like this BTW? It seems unnecessarily decisive.
I'm not the person you are replying to but that's not how I read their comment at all.
I read it as "The US has had 'artificially' low gas prices for a long time. Losing the supply will erase that advantage, so american people will suffer a lot from this" not "our gas prices are higher to start with so we are suffering more because of this".
You do but I don't mean JUST Europe, there's Us to, and Australia and plenty of places in Europe are fairly car centric anyway.
My only point is we all try to pay our fair share and not destroy the globe quite as fast but someone's over there saying drill baby drill.
Yeah, paying much more for heating oil is NBD heading into winter.

This is going to be devastating in the Northeast. My wife's grandmother relies on heating oil in her home and it has been a struggle to afford for a few years now. This year will be worse.
Unfortunately, the graph below is more accurate on heating oil prices. Right now - Sep 17 - it's basically twice ($5.06) what it cost when Biden left.
These prices obviously fluctuate, but I doubt demand for heating oil in the NE is going down in the coming months, barring an extremely warm winter, I guess. I won't pretend to know what will happen on the supply side but it's pretty clear that donnie doesn't give a fuck about anyone struggling to pay for it.
When does baseboard heaters with electricity become cheaper to heat?
Heating oil average in NY as-of today is over $6/gal. Absolutely nuts.
So I've never lived somewhere with heating oil used. I tried to look it up and saw that during the cold months houses could use 150-250 gallons of oil... Is that right? That would be ~$1200 I would assume from December-March for many people..
Yeah, easy if that's your only source of heat. I also have heat pumps and a wood stove, so hopefully will not need to fill up my tank this winter. 🤞
I can't remember how big our tank was, but years ago, one year we emptied our tank really quick in a rented house with single pane windows that we hadn't put up plastic coverings over the windows. We didn't do that again lol.
i was going to recommend she invest in one of those portable oil filled radiators, but it looks like the price for those is insane now. got mine for like 20 bucks several years ago and it works extremely (almost too) well, but it look like the one i have is like 80 bucks now. wow.
Another one:

"Maybe pick up some bananas too? What do those run? Like 50 bucks?"
They're not like us and the worst thing that can happen to them in their own mind is to become like us.
Well then both are totally unnecessary, you orange buffoon.
When your full of gas, you don't need to buy very much
