30 was basically a brick wall. In my 20s I pulled an all nighter at least twice a month no problem. Now I become a complete zombie by 10am

[-] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 1 points 1 minute ago

Wait until your 40s.

I don't usually even stay up for New Year's anymore.

[-] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 1 points 22 minutes ago

If I'm really locked in on something I can get to like 2am. It's rare that anything does that for me anymore though. Too many other worries distracting me.

[-] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 1 points 31 minutes ago

I'm lucky if I make it to midnight on the weekends lol

[-] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 1 points 34 minutes ago

"It's like 8:30 in the evening. I really should be getting ready for bed."

[-] ramscoop@lemmy.world 1 points 45 minutes ago

It'll be easier when you're 70+

[-] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

you're weak

[-] Zizzy@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 hours ago

ive always been eepy. I mean, naturally i will tend to being up at night, but being a marathon type of gamer is not in my blood

[-] NABDad@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

I was pulling all-nighters well into my 40's, but I had insomnia. It wasn't something I wanted to do. However, I did take advantage of it for work.

I found the solution to my insomnia and never looked back. Now I fall asleep almost like a normal person.

[-] abcdqfr@lemmy.world 1 points 51 minutes ago

hows the beetus treatin ya

[-] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 1 points 38 minutes ago

granola doesn't give you diabetes.

[-] abcdqfr@lemmy.world 1 points 31 minutes ago

still referring to the lights out factor of it... something to consider. not a doctor tm

granola is perfectly healthy dude. no idea what you are on about. it knocks me out because my stomach is full instead of empty.

maybe you have it confused with granola bars, which are basically candy.

[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 15 points 9 hours ago

I struggle to pull an all-dayer

[-] Demdaru@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago

My problem is opposite. I am trying my best not to pull all-nighter every night xD

Tho I get my energy boost around 7 pm so yeah.

[-] DerEnder@lemmus.org 1 points 6 hours ago

I'm glad if I make it to 3AM... and that is when I had my nap around noon.

[-] Tahl_eN@lemmy.world 9 points 10 hours ago

In my 40s - "That's my secret, I'm always tired"

[-] lichtmetzger@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 8 hours ago

The four-day work week helps a lot, I can still do it and I'm 37.

[-] Schmuppes@lemmy.today 3 points 3 hours ago

Damn boi, leave some quality of life for the rest of us!

[-] chunes@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

Most of the time when someone brags about 4-day weeks they still work 40+ hours and I don't envy them much

[-] lichtmetzger@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

That's true, I only work 32 hours though. And it's not bragging, I've had burnout before and can't work more than that for long periods of time, my body cannot handle it anymore.

[-] quantumgenderino@lemmy.blahaj.zone 25 points 14 hours ago

I didn't sleep last night but it wasn't my choice. I just didn't get tired until about a half hour before I had to be up. Needless to say, today fucking sucked.

[-] saltesc@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

Yeah, all-nighters are easy. It's more the ~24 hrs+ cliff that comes out of nowhere that's rough. Then there's the battle to power on for another 14-15 hrs through the waves of highs and lows, because I'd rather that than sleep during the day and blow up the sleeping pattern.

Pulling all-nighters for gaming shows very little experience with pulling all-nighters.

[-] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

Yeah I was gonna say, I do all nighters all the time, just not the fun ones anymore.

[-] ceenote@lemmy.world 16 points 14 hours ago

Haven't done an all-nighter since college, but a Factorio binge is just about the only thing that can keep me up past 2am.

[-] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 12 points 13 hours ago

Its not even a binge for me. Its: oh one hr before bed? Let me just fix this real quick. 3am: fuck.

[-] SolacefromSilence@fedia.io 5 points 13 hours ago

yasss, I'll just add a few signals to upgrade the iron-ore rail network for longer trains. Maybe I should just upgrade all stations... it won't take much longer... do I hear birds?

[-] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

Im glad im not the only one that trains cause a cascading effect on.

[-] starchylemming@lemmy.world 0 points 5 hours ago

I wish all nighters were still an option My body is ready, i want it. But it's not the responsible thing to do. Gotta function properly the next day

Being an adult sucks, they warned us about it

[-] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 1 points 59 minutes ago

being an adult is awesome.

but i hated being a child. It was miserable and video games were very limited supply and my time was very limited.

[-] tacosanonymous@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 13 hours ago

I only did those when I was excited for a new game. I’ve become a very patient gamer.

[-] FUCKING_CUNO@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 15 hours ago

Not quite an all nighter, but three hours sleep last night.

WHY DO I ALWAYS START NEW GAMES SO LATE!?

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

I ain't tired; my eyes start to get blurry unless I have drops.

[-] Ninja876@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

I'm 50+ I can make it to maybe 18 hours and then I sleep for 2 days...

[-] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 9 hours ago

Just pop some dexamphetamines, problem solved.
