What does "compute" represent in this graph?

Computer parts have gotten much more expansive in the last few year, in large part due to disproportionate investments in LLMs, and LLM companies hoarding hardware.

You can get statistically plausible bullshit more cheaply.

That's a shit comparison. AI started on general purpose compute. And still is for the most part.

Using non general purpose compute just is much cheaper. And tokens on past models don't compare to current token. This is a bad faith graph.
