i dint like discord but the reason for this block being "a school shooting happened and you didnt set up an office building here" seems disingenuous at best

We live in sad times that governments think they're entitled to, apparently, every platform operator having a legal presence in their countries. The Internet would give us the technical tools for a revolution in favor of internationalism and against national sovereignty. This kind of thing is the counterrevolution. :(

Whence‽ Pretty sure the internet has always and will always be hierarchical. Decentralized networks exist, but ISPs don't support them, for these very exact authoritarian reasons.
