We do know that lots of animals enjoy their fermented fruit (alcohol). I can understand if no handler wants to deal with caffeinated monkeys, though...

Edit: Fun fact: Humans can process alcohol 50 times faster than orangutans. Could be caffeine in human quantities is deadly to some monkeys...

Does that mean they get and stay drunker longer or would it be less drunk amortized over longer since they're less efficient?

Being drunk is pretty much an immediate effect from ingesting alcohol (it needs to enter your bloodstream, maybe that works different for some animals but most likely not for other apes or monkeys), the processing is necessary to become sober again. As far as I understand, this means that they would stay drunk 50 times longer.

Well, captive ones have been known to drink both

Maybe some species, depending on their locality, may be into some raw ingredients that go into either product, however I would doubt that they would be into a product they wouldn't produce by themselves.

Although I've read about primates, kept as pets, getting addicted to things like cigarettes - so I wouldn't doubt the potential for addiction to a substance, like coffee, would be possible. I don't have an opinion on if they would like the taste of a cola drink though.
