I feel like I've been given a quest. I'm a coward and it's probably gonna sit on the list forever, but it's there now.
It's shocking that there hasn't been more vandalism, or "terrorists" attacks.
Especially since there are so many data centers in rural Texas, where everybody and their dog owns a 300 blackout for hog hunting.

Thermite isn't exactly hard to make, and it does a marvelous job at melting anything capable of melting.
You have no concept of scale.
You don't need to melt the whole building to put it partially out of action
if your focused weak spot requires thermite to break, there are probably better weak spots.

So grab a plane, thermite and then go for a short flight. If suddenly the air gets bumby, accidently having us drop the thermite bomb above the DCs. Would that then be involuntairy vandalism?
Or just use a drone, way cheaper

This just means all acts of vandalism are going to be classified as terrorist acts, which means you go to big boy disappear forever jail for fucking with them.
It isn't the gotcha you think it is.
They're going to fuck the taxpayers over (us) for any damage that happens to them, and whoever is caught messing with them is going to get fucking disappeared after being made a big fat example of.
These are the times when you absolutely have to read between the lines.
You might be right, but you also might be thinking this too literally.
Insurance is pretty archaic in how things are tracked. Some specific types of coverage in the industry is tracked via buckets (makes it easier to communicate between the plethora of companies involved in a single policy). The buckets are broad though, and are there simply to track exceptions in coverage. It doesn't necessarily mean "the government said you were a victim of terrorism so we won't cover it". It more likely means "for the purposes of your coverage any act of vandalism is not covered, and we are tracking it via the terrorism coverage bucket". Why? Because they think there is a high enough likelihood of people doing just that, and they don't want to accept the risk.
There are buckets for wind damage, earthquakes, etc. basically anything that falls outside of some mundane event like an employee tripped and spilled and their coffee on a server. Anything that can be traced back to a larger "event" or "act of God".
Can't make an example out of an invisible, unidentified person who is overseas.
