Would those be cemeteries? Grave yards only occur adjacent to a church...
Either way, burying people is as much a waste of space as grass yards...

Burn me and lob me into the sea when I'm gone. I don't even want to be on someone's mantelpiece.
Maybe require cremation or composting instead. No inefficient use of space for dead bodies. If a thing is unsustainable, a country should not engage in it.
Why are we still burying people? Creepy.
Turn my ashes into cinder blocks, or mortar, or concrete, and build something nice with me, like a school, or a library, or a museum.

I'm surprised the city bothers with cemeteries at all. Just wrap me in one of those fungus cloths and plant a tree above me. At least then my body will contribute something to the next generation instead of just taking up space that nobody can do anything else with.
I would love that, with the caveat that the tree is protected and can only be taken down with consent from my family
