Wonderful day!

Oh… I am sorry, but I won’t adventure this one.
The character, the UI look as AI-slop.

If it actually is LLM-generated… why do you degrade the human infinitely magnificent history?

Their ai disclaimer on their Steam page

Some current artworks are AI-generated as well as ingame assets, However before full relaase all AI Generated artwork will be replaced.

I’m not overly fussed about something like that, gotta start somewhere and hopefully it can support them while they finalize and make everything personal.

...gotta start somewhere...

No. This is not a start. This is the end for this "artist" and "developer" from my point of view.
Artists are capable to evolve, create, express art.

You don't start from disrespectful and degrading attitude to the history, damaging art as a miracle... by using systems based on stolen art, on devalued human effort, on defaced actual artists in LLM datasets who scream and cry in sorrow...

This is not art. This is awful, disgusting disrespect and atrophy to the miracle as art, human, life, love, purpose...

So someone who isn’t a good artist can’t ever be a game developer than? What an incredibly ignorant view. They have to put down a passion just because they can’t do art?

If someone is using it for inspiration, what’s the problem with that? No different than looking images up online, some people just can’t imagine that well. But hey, because of their limitations they can’t do what they want though eh?

May I ask, what is art, for you, @SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.world ?

So someone who isn’t a good artist can’t ever be a game developer than?

Developer? It depends on the subject. Programming is art, of course, but here I focused on the visual art only I initially referred to.
And from visual viewpoint, yes, if you want to be an artist, you learn how to be an artist.

You you search, you discover, you practice, you achieve, you communicate...
You practice, practice more, you try, you try again, you try harder...
You live...

If you want to be respected by others, the first and main thing is to respect yourself.
Only by that, only by self-respect will you compel others to respect you too.
~ 'The Insulted And Humiliated" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky [translated]

You, as a non-ignorant and non-indifferent human, express your unique life-gained experience...
You achieve an artwork, with effort, reified in a love peace of your ineffably miraculous life of an opportunity...

You leave a message in the veils of infinite history... that will exist for others after you to learn from, to search for, to discover, to practice from, to achieve on, to communicate through... since art is a timeless communication between a human and a human...

All they told me was "Just give up
You'll never be good enough", never good enough
Pushing me, pushing me...

The fuck….?

So someone needs to do all of that, before they can even think of programming or designing a game? You’re truly have zero grasp on reality.

Art is subjective, and almost all of it uses inspiration from something else. Wheter it’s nature, or other peoples works. Why are you so stuck up about one particular method of inspiration? Because you don’t like it in particular?

How is copying or using someone else’s work any different than a mockup in ai? What about people who trace art? Thats literally copying someone else’s work that’s not okay, yet it’s acceptable for people who are learning. And people who are also professionals do it too, but who are we to say they aren’t artists? Oh, you, you apparently think artists can’t only do stuff a certain way.

Shame on you.

You do you, indeed.

Meanwhile, I wish you safety, stability, and peace.

So, I have the decency to answer your questions, but you can’t answer mine?

That’s what I thought, not trying to discuss in good faith apparantly eh? You didn’t actually want someone to start a conversation, you just wanted to whinge.

[-] artwork@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

You neither responded to nor answered any of my questions, I believe.

Additionally, I am sorry, but I tend not to invest my finite human life time on discussions with people who may either be trolling or do not consider a subject thoughtfully enough for a more respectful, accountable, mature discussion.

I should rather invest the time into practicing!

Please do consider your time, too.

The nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing...

Yes I answered your questions, just because you didn’t like the answers doesn’t mean that I didn’t.

If you have limited time, what are you doing posting comments and asking questions? That’s not coming in to have a discussion in good faith if you can’t respond.

If anyone is trolling, it’s you mate, as I said, you don’t want a discussion, you just want to whinge, but it didn’t work this time, whoops.

or do not consider a subject thoughtfully enough for a more respectful, accountable, mature discussion.

I’m responding to your questions, you’re not. I provided detail, you’re using non-relevant quotes to whinge. So using these data points and information, it’s clear who is the one not here on good faith. That’s you since you probably won’t realize this.
