Yet trump can vote. Child rapist, and 34x convicted criminal.

[-] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 74 points 1 week ago

Thirty-four time convicted felon AND a SERIAL CHILD RAPIST

[-] tired_n_bored@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

And a murderer. In the Epstein files he literally participated in an infanticide

[-] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 week ago

I'm not religious, but from the definition, the guy is actually evil.

To be fair, he's never been found guilty in court of raping a child. We all know it's true, but the "justice" system has failed us

[-] Harvey656@lemmy.world 59 points 1 week ago

Wait she's not a US citizen?

[-] Alwaysnownevernotme@lemmy.world 54 points 1 week ago

Born in Trinidad & Tobago.

Nothing against her but I would choose a queens park swizzle every night of the week.

[-] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 36 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

What does that mean? I’m old and/or midwestern. Take pity.

[-] Neverclear@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 week ago

It's a Trinidadian(?) rum cocktail... don't know why that would offend her, though.

shes been trying hard to get trump to give her a free citizenship, and pardon her sex offendor family members.

[-] Harvey656@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

I knew about the pardoning thing.

Honestly, I think I view family very differently. If my family was convicted with real evidence, I know for a fact I'd disown them. Maybe denial hits us all differently.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 13 points 1 week ago

apparently nicki seems to think SA/child rape as a non-issue.

Like in the strictest sense, yes she's not a citizen so it's 'foreign'. But it's not that deep?

She's been problematic online long enough for someone to publish an journal article on it: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8590827/

People have speculated the Trump support early in his admin was because she wants pardons for people in her life, or help with citizenship, as she's had legal trouble in the past too. Or maybe she just likes money? Time Magazine had an article earlier this year about how important celebrity endorsement has become to the campaign, and how Minaj became involved.

The article contains this passage:

Her approach changed after a series of unnerving episodes at her Los Angeles home. In 2022 and 2023, her $20 million mansion in a gated enclave became the target of repeated swatting calls: anonymous hoaxes that summoned heavily armed police to her doorstep. Law enforcement has not identified nor arrested anyone in connection with the incidents. (The Los Angeles Police Department said it could not verify details about the incidents without additional information.) The experience was frightening, she says, especially for her young son.

On X, she sought help from California Governor Gavin Newsom. Through intermediaries, she says, she requested a meeting but never heard back. “He just completely ignored me, with all the money I spent in taxes,” she says. (Newsom’s office did not respond to a request for comment.)

Another swatting attack happened in April 2025, according to a police report. The episode drew the attention of a cadre of very online Republicans. Among them was Anna Paulina Luna, the former model and Turning Point USA activist turned Congresswoman from Florida. Luna, a close friend of Bruesewitz’s, called Minaj. She then connected the rapper with federal law-enforcement officials and a private security firm she uses. “I was shocked,” Minaj says of Luna’s assistance. “I’d never seen anyone in politics treat me that way.” She began to consider going public as a part of Trump’s MAGA movement. “That’s what made me say that I don’t care to keep this a secret anymore.”

That quote is kind of crazy, like Karen yelling at a clerk level of entitlement combined with not knowing what taxes are or where they go.

[-] Enkrod@feddit.org 32 points 1 week ago

"with all the money I spent in taxes"

And that gives you entitlement how?! You are ONE citizen, with ONE vote, you are no more or less "important" than anyone else. Money should not buy you influence, that it does buy influence is a bug, not a feature.

In before "it's a feature, system is working as intended": imho it's a bug in the democracy subsystem that is intentionally caused and exploited by how the overarching system was implemented.

Yes, I'm a software developer.

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 38 points 1 week ago

[-] SpikedIguana@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 week ago
[-] Ariselas@piefed.ca 38 points 1 week ago

they can if they are the president

[-] HappySkullsplitter@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Not even the president gets that

Just THAT guy for some reason

[-] scutiger@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Apparently NY state allows felons to vote as long as they are not in prison, and Florida defers to the law where the crime was committed, so Trump is allowed to vote in Florida where is "home" is.

The real question isn't why he's allowed to vote, but why he's not in prison. Felons should be allowed to vote, otherwise it would be trivial to lock your opponents out of eligibility through lawfare.

I think at least 26 states a felon can vote if they've served their sentence.

[-] Triumph@fedia.io 22 points 1 week ago

Depends on the state I'm sure.

[-] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 1 week ago

Some states don't rescind voting rights while others automatically reinstate after release. It really does vary.

The last two would be excellent members of the current US administration.

[-] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

Fascism. The best people.

[-] MisterFrog@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

As much as Nicki Minaj is a wanker, this is a really conservative argument.

Suddenly permanent residents opinions don't matter, despite politics affecting them?

The only way out of this madness is international working class solidarity.

Attack your enemies on their ideology, class position and viewpoints, not on their immigration status ffs.

(Her husband and brother being rapists, obviously fair game for criticism)

[-] shartgargle@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 days ago

It's more attacking her for hypocrisy.

[-] ShankShill@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 days ago

Animal rights activists should protest for the plastic consumption she's inviting to leopards with that face.

[-] epicstove@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago

Nah, those last 2 would def be given the pass to vote given this current US government.

[-] whoisearth@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 week ago

Man am I glad I got on the Cardi B train early. Her batshit is the kind I can get behind.
