Ironically, whenever you hear some lyrical content or a decent melody in a Scooter track, that's a cover, sample or just written by someone else. The dudes made some cool happy hardcore early on, but they couldn't write proper songs even if their lives depended on it.
‘How Much Is the Fish’ uses the melody from Bots' song ‘Zeven Dagen Lang’, which in turn comes from traditional Breton song ‘Son Ar Chistr’. Just like two albums later they used some Scottish melodies iirc.
I was a fan of Scooter back in the day, but now I wish H.P. Baxxter shut up more often.
Also, fun fact: Baxxter and Rick J. Jordan are both executives at the edm label Kontor Records, founded and managed by the band's manager Jens Thele. (Jordan might not be there now, since he left the band long ago.) The label released artists like ATB, Tiësto, and Armin van Buuren, though probably only in Germany.
