Well absolutely in the judeism base of it. Old testament was constantly "god prepared this perfect place just for you" "whoops looks like there's already a thriving civilization of happy people there, they must be evil why else would they have taken the land I promised to you".
Christians loved genociding non-christians in the early days.
Every German soldier's belt buckle had the imprint "Gott mit uns" throughout World War 2 ("God is with us"). Doing whatever your leader feels needs doing becomes a lot easier when you've got permission from magical cloud daddy.
