The reality is that if Canada doesn't deal with them one way or another, they won't stop. These kinds of people never think "welp, guess I was wrong. Time to go back to being a normal human".

this is not the first time canada had to watch their conservative party get usurped by idiots. happened in the 80s/90s where there was progressive vs reform conservatives. no doubt it has happened before then too. there is no way to 'deal' with a racist. they will not be dealt with with any form of reasoning. they dont want to be dealt with. they fully believe it is everyone else who has to be dealt with.
The nutjobs can only hold base for so long before the whole party abandons them when they were like "i just wanted affordable housing... i wasnt looking to be a nazi" and boom, suddenly you have two conservative parties: one being racist shitheads that nobody can stand for more than 2 seconds and the other just wanting affordable housing. Neither ever gain traction while separate but cannot stand eachother long enought to be effective single party. then they repeat this cycle again and again.
i try to think of it like the racists are a bacteria that gets washed off the conservative party every decade. no, they will never leave alberta. they will always be there. always have been there. it is just that new generations come along and all forget these shit heads will never have their best interests when they seek to fill out numbers for their party. heck these idiots couldnt even vote in their own best interests. these insufferable assholes just want to hurt others.
They have nothing to offer. So much of Alberta is owned by the federal government or the indigenous peoples.
A separated Alberta would be a handful of urban centres (which are strongly opposed to separation) and some farmers here and there. Landlocked and surrounded by hostile borders on all sides.
It would be the equivalent to setting yourself on fire with gasoline and then begging someone to put out the flames by pissing on you.
Surely you guys have laws against fomenting war and can prosecute these people? Nothing innocent about offering public resources for white jihad.

CIA is already on the ground and actively setting the plan to fragment Canada for the benefit of USA. Canadians refuse to take the threat seriously and will be regretting it. You separatists in Alberta are going to be disappointed if you go through this whole transition to let yourself extract fossil fuels and then discover that we are also phasing out fossil fuels, even if we did it with a few more jumps and starts than in Canada.
Suggestion: a North American Reorganization Council. All the nations in North America have a chat, we decide what bits of land are going to belong to what countries based on the desires of the people who live there, indigenous folks get their land back and weigh in with actual weight to their desires, and every individual gets to straight up just move wherever they want, and please just let me leave this country, okay?
