that's how fascism works. use the threat of violence to address a problem that doesn't exist, in order to create the problem you claimed to be addressing
use ~~the threat of~~ violence
FTFY
that took longer than i hoped, but still-- thanks
That’s not what poll watchers do. Poll watchers are supposed to report improprieties. They want you to think it’s violence so when they sneakily contest random areas ballots it flies over your head.
please. the "voter fraud" "problem" was never a problem until fucking trump wanted it to be, because he couldn't stand the fact that he didn't win the popular vote by 500 billion votes in 2016
poll watchers GTFO. trump's lawyers refused to make any claims about "improprieties" in front of actual judges every time because there were none.
yes, it's a fucking threat of violence, because you have people watching you while you vote, as if you're already under suspicion of doing something wrong. aka voter suppression of people who don't plan to vote for the party assigning "poll watchers"
there is no rationalizing this fascist bullshit, but by all means--keep trying
Reactionaries in Columbia and Argentina and Chile and Brazil have all fucked with elections in these countries. Would be kinda crazy to believe the US was exempt, especially after state-level fuckery from Florida to Arizona to Iowa going on since Operation Eagle Eye
That's only enough "poll monitors" to monitor about 1% of polling places in the USA.
But they also have the data and know which areas to target directly, plus implying threat through the action will deter others who don't know if their place is going to be one of the targeted ones or not.
I'm not scared of any poll monitor. I'll tell them to monitor my pole while I slap it down on the ballot machine.
