The GTA 6 of anime
After seeing this I have been wondering if I missed new sequels being released. To be honest I have not been keeping up with anime news these past few years. I watched Madoka in high school.
The main series was remade as a movie trilogy, and the third film, Rebellion, had new story content that's worth watching if you liked the show and haven't seen it yet.
There was also a spin-off series ("Magia Record - Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story") that I think was associated with a mobile game, but I never got around to watching it.
