The vibe for this video is depressing. Its cool and old hardware should also be interesting but the air here is sad.
I think they are really struggling to put out some positive vibe videos now, like they did in the old days, and understandably so. There just isn't any positive things to talk about when it comes to hardware.
However the investigative journalism videos GN makes are still some of the best and most informative on modern society available anywhere, even as depressing as they are.
GN beat traditional mainstream journalism by miles. A mainstream media which doesn't really seem to interest itself much with the doings of the giga tech corps, even though these corps basically run the world now, and every decision they make impacts the entire population of Earth.
And the issue isn't helped by people obsessed with AI.... Like Wendell.
I mostly skip 2 Minute Papers videos for that reason nowadays.
He is? That is dissapointing. I like his appearance in GN, where this isn't really as apparent.
I just put a newly built i7-2600 with 16gb of ddr3 in my living room. It's similar in specs to a machine I built new 15 years ago.
