Munich Christmas market! Much less crowded than Nuremberg, although less variety in the stalls.

This is great. Thank you. Is your focus Christmas markets on this trip?

Also that person in the bottom right look like they ate a lemon lol.

Took a few days off work last week, left pretty specific instructions on what to do in my absence.

Returned today to absolutely fuck all being done. I'm extra shitty as I've covered for others when they were sick/holidays and things progressed in their absence.

Looks like I'll have to return the favour and be 'too busy' for everything until after Xmas.

I bought a Terry's mint-flavoured chocolate orange, with the thought process being hey, I like chocolate oranges, I like mint chocolate, let's give it a go.

A week or so later I saw it in the cupboard and had a horrible thought: is it orange AND mint? What kind of monstrosity have I purchased here? Is this going to be like a Vegemite Tim Tam?

Upon closer examination I can confirm, no, just mint, but shaped like an orange because Reasons. So you can all relax, I'm sure that was stressing other people too.

This made me check the two I had and they are definitely orange. Then I had a brilliant thought, what if I somehow shoot them open with my salt gun?

Update: experiment did not work. Salt gun not powerful enough. Terry's #1 is too heavy. Terry's #2 will have more thought to it.

My tooths are now very clean. Which is good, but they don't feel like my teeth anymore.

I like the new dentist I saw and am booked in for a torture session/filling soon. Why are teeth so poorly designed? And why don't they come with a warranty?

I hate this weather, so sticky and yucky, doesn't feel any better inside or outside today. Yuck! :(

It's ridiculous! Even my giant office in the city is sticky inside, almost feels like there's condensation on every surface..

[–] bull@aussie.zone 8 points 10 months ago

Just went out to the supermarket. The city is covered in a rare evening fog. Can't see the tops of the taller buildings. Humid as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 8 points 10 months ago (2 children)

This morning on the telly they were talking about non alcoholic drinks for dogs because owners like to buy shit for their pets. Paw Blonde, Pawroni and Pawsecco are available for your party animals.

I don’t know why, but I always want or need to bake on days that are hot or humid.

Resident weirdo checking in.

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 4 points 10 months ago (5 children)

This weather is good for yeast cookery - buns, bread or cake. Not good for pastry.

Thought I'd order a late breakfast.. rider sat waiting for some other order for like 30 minutes or so before going to get mine. I paid for priority delivery but that doesn't mean they'll prioritise collecting it. Prick sat on it not allowing another rider to collect it while it went cold. He's nearly here now 45 minutes past the original expected delivery. Angry.

I have very little enthusiasm for today.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I'm wearing a cardi, how in hell is going to be 33 tomorrow. 🥴

[–] wscholermann@aussie.zone 6 points 10 months ago

Melbourne weather is actively hostile, doesn't want you to acclimate and doesn't want you to be here.

Trying dry mode on my a/c. I feel like it does actually make a difference, but I don't know if it's placebo.

While making dinner this evening, I listened to just about every version of Santa Baby. There are a lot - Taylor Swift, Kylie, Cher, Madonna, Ariana Grande, Pussycat Dolls, Gwen Stefani to name just a few.

None of them are anywhere near as good as the Eartha Kitt original; though I give points to Michael Buble for his male version of a dude totally not flirting with Santa. It was his funny take that sent me on this journey.

Aaaargh!

When you realise you shredded a Kmart voucher along with a bunch of other receipts…

FML. This year I’ve also had two companies I’ve paid $$ that have gone under.

AND I still can’t find my Turkish towel!

Napping was a mistake. But since I was up a certain furry little potato got an extra wet meal and is now having a cuddle. I'm really happy the new wet food is working out well for her and is more nutritious. We've had a win here.

Too tired to do anything productive so veging and watching dumb shows out of order til I hopefully get back to sleep.

Pull a muscle under my jaw yawning, and now it sort of hurts to talk and my tongue aches.

[–] Nath@aussie.zone 4 points 10 months ago

In their defense, it's super hard to predict the weather in Melbourne. Between the influences of the Southern and Pacific oceans, plus weather patterns can come from either the North or West. In short, the weather can come from any direction.

For Perth, it all comes from the Indian Ocean and the predictions are pretty accurate as a result.
