Doesn't seem to run on linux with proton ge 11-7.

[-] ltxrtquq@lemmy.ml 5 points 21 hours ago

https://github.com/ayozetr/bloodborne_linux

I saw somewhere else that there's a linux build for it. I haven't tried it, but it exists.

[-] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 1 points 15 hours ago

Did Claude just make a PS3 emulator?

[-] noride@lemmy.zip 87 points 1 day ago

This feels like a trap. Anyone confirm it doesn't just drain your crypto wallets?

[-] TheEighthDoctor@lemmy.zip 5 points 15 hours ago

If it drains crypto wallet I can't confirm but the game runs at 100fps on my PC

[-] Pratai@piefed.ca 16 points 1 day ago

…. crypto wallets. lol.

[-] RightHandOfIkaros@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago

Can't drain a crypto wallet if you don't have one in the first place.

[-] EtAl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 22 points 1 day ago

I've never heard of a virus or malware from a FitGirl package.

[-] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 5 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

Okay but did they vibe coded this port by themselves or did they even check the code base for this? This is different from repackaging a legit game with a crack. Like a crypto miner could be hidden inside the code base that even a virus scanner might not even find. Since then there is a good chance the compiled binary won’t show any patterns that match with known malware.

[-] Psythik@lemmy.world 0 points 7 hours ago

Why do you have such little faith in the scene? Anytime a torrent contains something nasty in it, the community lets everyone know about it almost immediately. I've been downloading cracks, hacks, keygens, and repacks since the 90s, and I've never had an issue with a virus/trojan/crypto miner/etc. Use common sense and you have nothing to worry about.

[-] Krudler@lemmy.world 5 points 19 hours ago

This doesn't answer the question.

Yawn, more cuck coded bullshit. No thanks

[-] creature@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

I feel like there are two things

  1. People with limited knowledge using AI to achieve things that they personally aren't able to do
  2. People with knowledge using AI to achieve things human brains can't do

I'm not smart enough to know which one of these actually applies in this situation, but I feel that they are distinctly different and justify a use case. My layman understanding is reverse engineering software like this is completely bit feasible with just human willpower

If you are informed on this subject please enlighten me which of these apply if any

Maybe this will force From to bring it to ~~pc~~ Steam so they can make some money off it? 🤞

[-] Alaknar@sopuli.xyz 7 points 20 hours ago

FromSoft doesn't have a say in this. I mean, they're not making Duskbloods, a new IP, just for funzies, Sony is literally keeping Bloodborne chained up in the basement and won't allow anyone to touch it.

[-] mursejoy@lemmy.zip 1 points 19 hours ago

Can’t wait for Duskbloods. NS2 fam be feasting on games this year.

[-] Furbag@pawb.social 44 points 1 day ago

My understanding is that they've always wanted to port it to PC since it was an incredibly successful title, but they had licensing issues with Sony thay prevent them from doing so.

In other words, don't blame From Software, blame the suits at Sony for thinking that keeping Bloodbourne as a console exclusive forever will somehow translate to selling more Playstations.

[-] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

Would make a little more sense if it wasn't still locked to a console they replaced 13 year ago and discontinued entirely 10 years ago.

[-] Furbag@pawb.social 4 points 7 hours ago

Even though it came out on the PS4, it's backwards compatible with the PS5. Keeping it exclusive still means that the game can sell a system if someone really wants to play it bad enough.

Of course, that probably accounts for less than 1% of people who purchase a PS5 at this point, but you and I have probably put more thought into this in this one single thread than the entire board of directors at Sony did. To them, games are transactional and old games are not worth bothering with at this point.

[-] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 1 points 37 minutes ago

For some reason I was thinking it was PS3, not PS4, which would have had it stuck on the older console.

[-] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 hours ago

the suits at Sony

Would make a little more sense

See, that's the problem right there.

Nothing corpo executives do makes sense to rational human beings unless you're only considering the next quarter, but Sony executives don't even make sense in that particular case.

They just seem to be trying to bring down the company by making the worst possible decision at any point in time.
