Been looking for a nice ZFS UI for my NAS after ditching TrueNAS for PBS. This is developed by a former TrueNAS/iXsystems employee and looking pretty good. Set it up and it's pretty intuitive and helpful.

AI has been used for the UI but not the backend if I got it right (there's a rant about that in the README).

Oh, nice!

I'm still on TrueNAS CORE and thinking about where to move next.

So far, I'm very impressed by Sylve, but I'll keep an eye on this too.

PS: While preparing to move to TrueNAS CE, I converted all my jails to VMs, so I could just import them after migrating. But by doing that, I removed my need to move from CORE, as I don't have jails based on out of date FreeBSD anymore!

Love the disclosure of AI in the frontend, will be keeping and eye on this one as he replaces the frontend code.

Very cool!

I don't think they plan to replace the code - I understood it as them wanting to focus on the backend and also not being a UI programmer, leaving that part to the LLMs.

They explicitly reference the LLM generated front end code eventually being replaced when they can "hire a proper JS/CSS" dev.

So hopefully that happens in the near future!

Oh cool, I missed that somehow. I wonder if they want to pay that out of their own pocket, since there's no donation link and only 1 GitHub sponsor, also no support option or something on the website.

This is well done. Integrates Sanoid/Syncoid, gives a pile of information about what's happening on the filesystem, some of which I had to research to figure out what it's telling me.

Haven't seen anything to set up alarms but maybe I haven't delved far enough into it yet.
