It never goes below his 30% of cultists it seems.

[-] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 7 points 1 day ago

Newest low so far.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Doesn't matter.

They are very clearly open to cheating.

Which means we have to show up in larger numbers to offset the cheating.

Stop [fill in the blank] and go vote when the time comes. No excuses.

I'm ao sick of this headline. It's been hitting a new low every week for the past 2 years. You'd think it was at 0 by now, if you were to believe this bullshit headline.

[-] starik@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

how can number go down for 2 whole years and not be 0 yet???

[-] Taldan@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Nate Silver's poll aggregator also has him at a new low. The headline is accurate. Perhaps you misunderstood it? 0% approval isn't a thing. No reasonable person would read the headline that way

[-] TheBloodFarts@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah these and the constant "health concerns" are ridiculous

[-] stickyprimer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

“Unnamed democratic opponent” will perform better against Trump than any actual candidate the DNC eventually choose to excrete onto the podium.

[-] jpreston1986@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, VOTE!!

These polls are meaningless, please, for the love of god, fucking VOTE

[-] Pratai@piefed.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Can someone explain how his approval rating matters even a little?

[-] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 67 points 3 days ago

Keep pushing. Get out and vote. That margin isn't wide enough.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 26 points 3 days ago

Imagine the message it would send if we voted every single Republican out of office this year. Every last one of them that's up for election.

[-] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 days ago

They would have just enough Senators to impeach and remove Trump if that happened.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 17 points 2 days ago

Inevitably, at least one Dem would vote against it.

[-] Taldan@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

We all know that's Fetterman. He swung hard to the right after that stroke

[-] Denfa@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Schumer and Jeffries can’t let dems win even if they win. Their job is to lead the minority party and that’s what they will continue to do.

[-] Psythik@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I filled out my ballot over a week ago. Two more days until polling locations open in my town, and I will be among the first in line. (It's a mail-in ballot but I am not taking any chances with everything going on. I need to see evidence of my vote being counted.)

[-] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 2 points 2 days ago

In my town, there is a dropbox at the county building. I dropped my ballot carefully in there last Tuesday.

[-] cattywampas@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

Too big to rig!

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Just 36 percent of likely voters said that they approved of Mr. Trump’s performance, while 59 percent said that they disapproved.

That's still more than 1 out of 3. Still wayyyyy too high.

But that's at the Bush line (or the Dick line) or the Sarah Palin floor...unless something really systemic changes in this country, we are probably stuck with about that percentage of Americans being just that fucking terrible and/or stupid to support conservatives.

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The lowest I've seen was 33%. Like literally, 1/3 is the floor.

1/3+ of the people in this country are awful people, and even after Trump is gone we're supposed to just live side by side with them?

[-] Windex007@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

NDP in Canada became the official opposition in Canada under Jack Layton. Some percentage of people just are drawn to decisiveness, and the dem establishment is just not that.

My point is the floor is lower than 1/3, dems just don't put up leaders who can crack it. Real floor is probably around 1/4

[-] HamsterRage@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

That was one of the most corrupt moments in Canadian politics. The NDP popularity was 100% due to his personal appeal. He knew that he was dying and would never sit as opposition leader for any amount of time, but he kept it secret and let people vote for him.

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 day ago

Real floor is probably around 1/4

Based on literally nothing but vibes.

[-] Windex007@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Half-right: South Park, but more recently Alberta separatism.

[-] macaro@lemmy.blahaj.zone 29 points 3 days ago

It’s not 0% approval, which is the only number that matters.

[-] cattywampas@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

Literally not true but ok.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 9 points 3 days ago

It will never be 0% approval.

Even if you somehow got rid of all the fucking Nazis out there, there's still the 'lizardman constant', some small percentage of people who either didn't understand the poll, are lazy and giving random answers to just get through the poll as fast as possible, or are giving crazy answers just for shits and giggles.

[-] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

Of course not but one can hope.

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 1 day ago

It's one thing for a person to say something this dumb, but who are the 26+ other people who upvoted it???

Really? It doesn't matter unless approval is 0%? Something that has literally never happened and is essentially impossible?

Some people seem to think he is on the ballot this election too, how sad :(

[-] zjti8eit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 day ago

He's names not there, but his policies are, and if the congress turns blue, he could be removed from office after his third impeachment.

[-] Taldan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Removing him from office is a fantasy.

You would need 67 senators to vote in favor. Current polling suggests 52 Democrat senators is the most likely outcome

Where would you get the other ~15 votes?

[-] Taldan@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

He literally told his base to vote like he is. We should all make sure everyone gets that message, because Trump is deeply unpopular

[-] CalemitousVariantK@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

41% of the surveyed would still vote for this madness and 8% are undecided or too embarrassed to admit how they would vote. 49-51 with a margin of error is not a winning split, it's a deadlock at best. If you want change, change requires action and the simplest action you can take is voting. This isn't a high obstacle or a difficult choice.
