A Republican candidate running to unseat a Democratic incumbent in the state Legislature is facing charges for exposing himself to a child walking to her bus stop earlier this month.

Authorities charged Andre Stafford, running for Georgia House District 42 in Smyrna, with one felony count of child molestation and one count of public indecency.

Reached by phone, Stafford said he was innocent, but would not comment further about the accusations or his campaign for state House.

Authorities arrested Stafford on Thursday. Records show Stafford was released on Saturday on a $27,720 bond.

According to an arrest report, Stafford is accused of telling a girl she was pretty before exposing himself and driving away from a bus stop early on Oct. 15. The report did not give the age of the alleged victim.

What is it with Republicans and sexual indecency? Something about being rich and powerful must make people not see other people as anything other than sec toys.

I don't even contribute it to wealth. I contribute religious sexual repression to it

Its sad that behavior like that is not disqualifying for Republican candidates.

So, bog standard Republican. They're all obsessed with children and their genitals.

[-] frunch@lemmy.world 9 points 2 hours ago

Well shit--now he's a lock for the win! Nothing the GOP likes more than a pedo. I imagine they will be in lock-step defending the indefensible as usual. There's no low the Republicans won't sink to.

Fascinated by this site's way of blocking non subscribers from reading. If you hit reading mode, once you get to the wall, the word are backwards and garbled. Usually the article just abruptly ends and it says the same thing the popup does.

elcihev gnisu gnisu eht eht .pots .dias redaer etalp ,otohp otohp raen puenil esnecil esnecil ni deifitnedi deifitnedi sih lrig s’revird revird sub gnieb seitirohtua sa sa a a ehT s’droffatS droffatS kcolF seitirohtuA

Why?

On topic, this guy isn't white enough to get Republicans to want to protect him.

Maybe those are the words in the article, but they use CSS to reverse the order of the letters?

[-] celeste@kbin.earth 1 points 42 minutes ago

I think they're backwards and alphabetized by paragraph? The words seem related to the content of the article.

[-] Stormy@thelemmy.club 8 points 5 hours ago

He does inappropriate things with his willy, around kids, and likes Trump. He's a perfect example of a mam for Republicans, of course they'll protect him.

[-] celeste@kbin.earth 3 points 4 hours ago

I think it depends on if he ruined his utility to them too early? And if he's convicted, of course.

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 0 points 3 hours ago

I was about to post about exactly that. lol. It carries over to archive.today. lol.

Oh well, if I was less lazy, I'd block them in my DNS, but I'll remember to not bother reading them anymore.

Listen, I've already renamed the republican party to the rapist party... they still get to keep their stupid R next to their name, but with a much better fitting descriptive word. If its R, it's a given its a pedophile rapist pile of fuckin shit.

I was trying to come up with something witty but in reality all I can say is typical.

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

typical

That word has been ruined for me by The Front Fell Off. lol

Sooner or later we are going to get rid of pedophiles. I don't know what wormhole we travelled through where suddenly people are cool with it and open about it.

We have become TOO CIVIL.

WE ALL KNOW WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN TO PEDOPHILES

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

waitwaitwait don't bring on the next one yet, this one's not in jail yet, we gotta actually do that first :)

At this point i assume if he is good enough for them he is on it with them... The mutual destruction type of motivation... or at the very least one sided leverage thing...
