Normalizing relations with Russia is a tremendous mistake and this Court is likely subject to Russian pressure because there is no way they could rule that the IIHF's concerns were unfounded. From foreign invasions to hybrid warfare to a long history of blatant doping.

Someone could argue US does some of these. Well, I think there may be a time soon where the US starts getting sanctioned from international events too.

I hope they find themselves surrounded by Ukraine flags everywhere they look for their entire time here.

Wtf is the court of arbitration of sport and why does it sound like something made up so that the org can let Russia back in while acting like their hands are tied?

Turns out they're based in Switzerland, and have been around for a minute:

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS; French: Tribunal arbitral du sport, TAS) is an international body established in 1984 to settle disputes related to sport through arbitration. Its headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland, and its courts are located in New York City, Sydney, and Lausanne. Temporary courts are established in current Olympic host cities.
