Minetest is more a game engine than a game itself, tho.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

MineClone2 is a free and open source survival sandbox game built to resemble Minecraft on the Minetest game engine, and their latest release Fire and Stone is out now.

This update includes numerous enhancements to the gameplay including the Stonecutter now actually being usable so you can "cut every kind of stone into slabs, stairs, and decorated variants with unprecedented ease".

Campfires can now cook items and you can see it being done too which sounds fun.

Armour can now be decorated with colourful gems and metals, there's improvements to the AI of various mobs and various other improvements found in the release notes.

Simply install Minetest and then look for MineClone2 in the Content -> Browse Online Content section.

You can also see more info on the ContentDB page.
