I believe that is in fact the issue. However making larger requests will just cause the issue to happen in a slightly different fashion, that will ensure heavier load. It's largely just a matter of resources that will have to come with hardware upgrades.

Hardware? Do you mean server hardware or device hardware? Because the device is fast enough. It just feels like jerboa is only loading like 20 posts at a time and keeping no cache of them

Yes, I've definitely noticed the stuttering.
I also whish the scroll speed maintained "velocity" for much longer. I often do quick flicks to scroll quickly, but unlike a lot of the other apps I use, Jerboa very quickly stops scrolling once your finger is off the screen.
