RiF on Android. As far as I'm concerned that's the only way to browse Reddit
I have moved to 95% web from 95% app.
RedReader! Free, no ads, tons of customization, open source, the absolute bees knees. I just discovered it right before it's apparently gonna get booted like all the rest of the 3rd part apps. >.<
Neither. I was banned from /r/Android because I prefer a Google Pixel over a Samsung device (yay, corrupt mods!)
I forgot, and I commented using one of my many alts. I was temporarily suspended from Reddit as a whole for "ban evasion".
My friends visited, who have Reddit accounts, and when they connected to my WiFi Reddit immediately perma-banned ALL of us, including all of my brand accounts for my company.
Reddit allowing random strangers to essentially get you perma-banned because you prefer a different phone is ridiculous. 🥲
I also got a ban after being on the site for over a decade. In a popular city's subreddit there was a news article about an FBI agent that had to shoot a pitbull in a park. The pit was not on a leash and started attacking the agent's dog. The pit also attacked another dog in this park a week prior. The agent shoots the dog and everyone in the comments is going crazy about a wild, dangerous dog being shot.
I said they should've nuked the dog and got perma'd. Poof. Ten year account on a throwaway comment, no warning. The mod reported it to reddit admins and then it was removed for "inciting violence". So now I'm just sitting here with my nukes trying to find a new place to chat.
Also, API calls. lol
That reminds me, before I got perma IP-banned, I got account banned for a comment I made.
It was on a post of someone who died from colon cancer. I commented how important it is to get your ass checked, and that account was perma-banned for "bullying".
It's quite interesting to see all of the hate speech and terrible comments on Reddit that don't seem to get picked up by Reddit, yet here I am, IP perma-banned for the most ridiculous things lol
most of the time i use sync pro, or occasionally old.reddit when i'm on desktop
me too, sync is the best. The dev just did a huge overhaul to the app, what bad timing..
I used to use RIF and very occasionally desktop via a search engine.
I don't use it at all anymore. However if you'd like to continue to use it, id recommend a free and open source app that uses RSS called Geddit on F-Droid. It's more read only, but who wants to give data to Spez. Not I.
I use old reddit (https://old.reddit.com) with ublock origin (no acceptable ads like with adblock). both on desktop and on mobile.

Mostly Infinity on mobile
I mostly use Infinity for Reddit (where Jerboa for Lemmy clearly draws a lot of inspiration from)
Sometimes I also use reddit on my PC but the site is horrible there and the old site, while not as buggy, doesn't look great.
Same, Infinity is what I stick to, and when it's gone, i'm gone from Reddit
I'm part of the Infinity crew too. I've tried so many clients and Infinity just ticks all the boxes for me
I use Infinity for 90% of my reddit use. It's so good in my opinion that I actually prefer it over the web UI. Makes me wish they supported Lemmy.
Web on desktop with uBlock, Apollo on iOS. Third-party apps are being effectively banned soon though as they want $20 million per year from third-party app developers.
Old Reddit on desktop, Apollo on iPhone and iPad, and Boost on Android. (Sync and Relay are great, but Boost feels most like Apollo to me.)
I've never used something different than Reddit is Fun (RIF for Fun now, I guess?) on Android for private use and the 'normal' web version if I Google something for work and end up on Reddit.
I prefer to do everything in the desktop, so I usually used old reddit with Reddit Enhancement Suite. When I'm out and about, I might scroll reddit a bit on the Boost app for Android. I don't want to use their official app or new reddit at all.
old reddit with RES on desktop, Infinity for Reddit/Sync for Reddit on mobile. no ads, no chat, no avatars, just plain old text threads.
Old.reddit with RES and Apollo on mobile- I hate what they're doing
RIF on mobile most of the time, old.reddit when on desktop the rest (usually when looking up something with a search engine)
You can opt out of the new UI without resorting to old.reddit
I pay for Reddit Premium for desktop ad-free experience, and use Apollo for mobile. If Apollo goes, I will not be browsing Reddit on the go and will probably end up cancelling my Premium subscription as well. Might as well start donating to my adopted Lemmy community.
Hopefully, Apollo adds support for Lemmy.
uBlock Origin my friend. Never see an ad again! Unless you wanna support a site that way, then just turn it off for that particular site. Also helps with YouTube pre-roll ads.
I pay for it on moral grounds and because I can afford it, but I do use DuckDuckGo's extension to block trackers for some privacy. However, if Reddit really does go through with killing off third-party apps I will probably just kill the Premium subscription and stop using the site altogether. Their first party app is that bad.
Redreader is my go-to on mobile
Has been for so long too. I tried the reddit webpage on my mobile with Firefox. Even the website is slow and clunky. Old.reddit is hard to read on my phone too, and it might even go away along with the API access. If I have to I'll give ReVanced a go with the official app, just to kill the ads.
