proton mail

Insanely based

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 29 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It's mostly because it doesn't have any sort of location protection, so all of us can log on at the same time.

[–] Coasting0942@reddthat.com 2 points 9 months ago

Make sure to donate via snail mail.

Harder to randomly delete an account that has money in it.

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 9 months ago (3 children)
[–] imkali@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 9 months ago (1 children)

a honeypot is a service run by feds pretending to be private or something criminals could use and then storing the data and using it to prosecute the criminals later on after farming a bunch of data

here's an example of a huge honeypot

[–] PipedLinkBot@feddit.rocks 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

here

Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.

I'm open-source; check me out at GitHub.

Honey pot was explained by imkali.

Glowie means undercover fed/cop. Think it references them standing out so obviously it's like they are glowing.

smh means ~~so much hate~~ "shaking my head" and is an expression of frustrated anger.

[–] itslilith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 9 months ago (1 children)

doesn't smh mean "shaking my head"?

[–] WeLoveCastingSpellz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)
[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 9 months ago

smh my head

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 9 months ago

Smh means shaking my head lol

[–] isVeryLoud@lemmy.ca 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

The "glowie" reference is from Terry A. Davis, TempleOS', uh, esoteric developer.

The quote is "CIA n****** glow in the dark", government agents have been called glowies ever since.

[–] Deestan@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

He was such an amazingly talented individual, ruined by incessantly degrading mental health. It was so painful to see.

[–] isVeryLoud@lemmy.ca 5 points 9 months ago

Indeed. RIP Terry :(

[–] 0x2d@lemmy.ml 4 points 9 months ago

glowie - undercover fed, terry davis reference (templeos dev)

honeypot - fake services run in order to catch people

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 10 points 9 months ago

That would be legendary.

I’d put chances at 1%?

[–] The_wild_card@lemmy.ml 5 points 9 months ago

No it isn't

For a while, there have been rumors alleging essentially that Proton Mail or Proton VPN are CIA/NSA honeypots. It's an incredible claim, and while it’s generally not worth debunking conspiracy theories, this one makes it pretty easy due to how bad the claims are, so let’s do it once and for all. (...)

The one thing you can legitimately criticize Protonmail for is that they make real damn sure to let you know they also offer VPN services for a subscription and whatnot.

my thoughts exactly :3

Is it okay if I share my ideas as an email attachment in the form of a 75 page pdf?

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

be my guest

[–] Franzia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 9 months ago

Need to know this as well

[–] StellarExtract@lemm.ee 39 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Hello, I have an idea for a "meme". Who should I email regarding this?

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 9 months ago

It says it in the title

this image is a screenshot of a Blender viewport; you can see the object origin (orange dot, left) and the 3D cursor (red and white circle, bottom left)

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Ah! I see. I never got the hang of using blender

[–] PoolloverNathan@programming.dev 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Press F12 to actually render.

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 9 months ago

Oh I didn't make this LOL. Sorry for the confusion

[–] RacoonVegetable@reddthat.com 14 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Hello fellow humans in my phone. I am currently sitting on a toilet having a bad day. I hope you all have a good day tho. 🦀

[–] Grimm@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago

I hope your day is now better and that you’re not still sitting on the toilet.

[–] yetAnotherUser@lemmy.ca 9 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Just wanted to ask this out of curiosity: are you accepting encrypted e-mail?

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I really don't know. Is that something special we need to set up?

[–] ErKaf@feddit.de 9 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

Nothing special to set up if the other side also has ProtonMail. If another ProtonMail user sends you a Mail, it's E2EE by default.

If you want people that don't have ProtonMail to send you encrypted mails, you need to share your Public Key somewhere.

You can get your Public Key this way:

  1. Settings

  1. Encryption and keys -> Export public key. And then share it here. DO NOT SHARE THE PRIVATE KEY. Only the Public Key.

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 9 months ago

Got it. I think we'll stick with regular emails. We're lemmy mods not plugs

[–] PoolloverNathan@programming.dev 2 points 9 months ago

Can't figure out how to post on Voyager. Anyone else know how?

[–] Draconic_NEO@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 9 months ago

I think that's very cool but I think it would be even better if Lemmy had its own native modmail system like Reddit. Hopefully one day.
