Like probably most of you I do own at least the majority of the books in physical form. But sometimes it's just easier to read on Kindle.

Sadly they're about £5.99 each, which is absolutely worth it if you can afford it, but x41 books it really adds up.

The good news is, if you check regularly you'll find that one or two books go on sale at a time for as little as 99p. Personally I pick up anything that goes under £2, currently I think that's just Guards! Guards! but they change all the time.

If anyone knows what schedule they change on that would be useful info, atm I just have a reminder to check back every couple of weeks.

(link is to the UK page but I'm sure the same applies on other Amazon sites too)

I’ve got physical copies of the whole discworld series although I haven’t read The Shepherds Crown and probably never will. I’ve found them all on audio for free and play them as background noise at home in an almost continuous loop.

Discworld is one of those series that I always meant to try but never quite got around to it. I’ll definitely need to one of these days.

Oh please do dive in and get lost in Sir Terry’s world. I can’t praise some of his work enough. There’s a way in for everyone. You can delve into witches, wizards, the city watch, read them in the order he wrote them or just pick out the best of the best. If you’ve never read any then I’d recommend you start with the best, pick one of these… Mort Small Gods Wyrd Sisters Guards! Guards! Interesting Times Men at Arms (my favourite) Thief of Time Lords and Ladies Soul Music The Colour of Magic (I’ve included because it’s generally agreed to be one of the best but I personally don’t like Rincewind as the main protagonist)

These are all great suggestions! (Tho, where is Going Postal? This is Moist erasure.)

Just to dip your toes the in I'd also recommend the standalone Monstrous Regiment

Oops, you’re right, I forgot to include Moist VL in the picks although I’d probably go for Making Money.

Thanks! I added those to my TBR. I'm guessing these are all separate standalone stories contained within one world?

They will all work as standalone reads but you’ll get a lot more from a few of them if you’ve read the whole series. Enjoy.

I haven’t read The Shepherds Crown and probably never will

You won't read it because then you've read everything and there'll never be any more? I assume it's not because you think you won't enjoy it.

Exactly. I can’t imagine knowing there’s no more work from Sir Terry so I’d rather leave the book untouched on the shelf. At the same time there are large chunks of Guards Guards I could recite having read it sooooo many times.

In the US you can also enroll in your local library and access e-books via Libby. Depending on your state you may be able to get a card for cities you dont live in as well(for example NY state resident can get a card for NYC).
