ED is now a hunting dog for the BJP. They're let loose when the dictators running the nation want to destroy an opposition party. The fall of government institutions from grace under BJP is pretty tragic and appalling.

The laws in India allow too much power to the central government.

Autonomous bodies should be completely autonomous.

Since they are part of administration that is a subsidiary of the judiciary they should listen to court orders only.

Without court order they should not take action.

Same thing is their with the law enforcement. The legislative controls their appointment and transfer which is unconstitutional.

Legislature and judiciary should be independent of each other.

That means appointment and transfers should be done by a committee appointed by supreme court.

Also biggest flaw in Indian laws is a term limit. Most advanced democracies have a two term limit. So no leader becomes a permanent dictator.

Your suggestions may have unintended consequences. Such decisions should be taken after a lot of thought and debate. That's what makes the work of the original constituent assembly so impressive.

However, I agree with your sentiment in general. The sad part is that all of your suggested changes or anything that benefits the democracy has to go through a constitutional amendment. Guess who controls that and what the outcome will be.
