Whenever I run any app, including winecfg, I get this error: 00a0:err:hid:udev_bus_init UDEV monitor creation failed 012c:err:winediag:nodrv_CreateWindow Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded. 012c:err:winediag:nodrv_CreateWindow L"The explorer process failed to start."

This only happens after I enable the virtual desktop option in winecfg. I can't boot winecfg to turn it off even. How do I disable this in (system.reg)?

Winetricks has a setting to toggle virtual desktop if you want; however virtual desktop is barely maintained so you probably should switch to gamescope .

thank you that has solved it.

How many times have you searched Google for these errors? What have you tried so far?

I've run across stuff like this: https://old.reddit.com/r/winehq/comments/195nnnu/unable_to_run_after_setting_enable_virtual_desktop/

That seem awfully similar.

I've searched pretty far and have not found a solution. The best I found was to just disable it using winetricks.
