Tl;dr they all support both sides so no matter the election they always get what they want.

[–] ganksy@lemmy.world 20 points 8 months ago

For tax purposes and to lobby for pet projects, yes they lobby both sides. Some corporations lobby for ideological issues. You will find that the vast majority of them get republican support. Plenty of not-for-profits lobby the left as well but you're not buying their products and paying for ideologies you may not agree with.

There is 0 reason this should be an app. Stop making shitty apps and just have proper websites.

[–] dan1101@lemm.ee 11 points 8 months ago

To be fair you can get to the list on the site.

[–] EpicFailGuy@lemmy.world 49 points 8 months ago

Politicians should wear company logos like racing drivers so we know who they are sponsored by.

Second time I've seen someone mention Mystery Men in three days. This is Amazing

[–] negativenull@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago

It's an amazing movie

You're Amazing

[–] EinfachUnersetzlich@lemm.ee 25 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Doesn't say it, but looks like it's USA only.

[–] ImplyingImplications@lemmy.ca 5 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Companies openly giving money to politicians is USA only. In other countries it's bribery and corruption.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Per Anthony Kennedy and a completely fair and impartial republiQan-aligned Supreme Court, money is just another word for free speech.

Corporations are people, my friend.

Unless they're responsible for a crime, then suddenly they're a faceless abstraction, and you can't charge those with anything silly!

Be that as it may, not mentioning which nation the topic applies to enforces the notion that the US is the default if no other context is given.

PSA: You can make a shortcut and place it on your home screen with most mobile browsers, on Android, and, as far as I know, on iOS. Don't let people trick you into installing apps for things websites can do.

This site would be fantastic if they supplied product lists and alternatives.

Great site! Thanks for sharing.

Most of the companies I've looked up so far are donating pretty equally to both parties. Except Honda, they're pretty heavily invested in the Democrat party.

Edit: I found one with a perfect score! Kawasaki motors. That's great, because I love their bikes!

All 3 major hardware stores (Home Depot, Lowe's, & Ace's) donate more to Republicans. Aside from locally owned small businesses, any idea where else to go?

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Every company I've looked up so far donates pretty evenly split to both parties, usually slightly favoring the Republicans, including the ones you listed. The only company I've found that is heavily Democrat is Honda. Sorry, that doesn't answer your question, but the point I was making is that they are funding both parties. What does that tell you? That they don't really care who is in charge. They only care that they have influence over whoever is in charge.

Coscto is like 98% Democrats 🙂

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Costco seems like one of the last companies that hasn't completely sold its soul to the devil.

Guess it's time to stop shopping at Haliburton.

Can anyone see the information on this page?

https://www.goodsuniteus.com/brands/#/brand/google

Whatever OS or browser I use, with or without VPN, it's just a blank page. Same for Alphabet Inc.

Any other brand just shows up like normal.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Major League Baseball?

Shit.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 2 points 8 months ago (6 children)

Want everything in your life to be political? There’s a lens for that!

[–] otp@sh.itjust.works 15 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Politics does influence almost every aspect of life whether we think about it or not.

Especially for people in minority groups, where sometimes simply existing as they are is political enough.

The horror that it is when I don't want to indirectly support policies I don't agree with.
