I love ESR and am excited to see him back next season. There will be enough minutes to go around with CL, hopefully he'll be able to earn his place

Those who doubt his place in the team have a short memory. In 21/22 ESR scored 10 goals (1920 mins) while Saka scored 11 goals (2988 mins).
Obviously Saka made a huge progress in 22/23 and I personally think he has a higher ceiling but ESR is an important player too and hopefully he'll stay fit and prove it.

I really hope he's pulling a Martinelli in that he debuted and impressed, but was put back on the grill for a while and came back as a superstar.

Agreed. I don't think the fact he hasn't had much playing time is indicative of how management feels about him. I think the goal is to have him ready to hit the ground running instead of having lots of stops and starts. Arteta and company have shown their willingness to be patient, especially with players coming back from serious injury. ESR's profile matches what we seem to be working toward and the talent (and demonstrated productivity) is clearly there, so I would be surprised if he's shipped off or left to rot.
