Punks Who Can Shred (lemmy.world)

One of my guilty pleasures is shredding guitar solos. I'm looking for recommendations on punk guitarists or songs that absolutely shred.

Or anything NOFX really...

Absolute classic. Saw them this weekend and was so glad they played this song.

That's fucking sick information

Side no question..... do you think the lead singer of nofx sounds like Greg proops or am I just crazy

I kind of hear it. They certainly have similar cadences. Now all I can think of is Fat Mike voicing Bob the Builder.

Not exactly punk, but it might fit anyway - Search and Destroy by the Stooges has an absolutely blistering guitar sound. In the original recording, you can hear the amps clipping. They 'fixed' that in the re-mastered version.

fucking classic and bad ass track

I'm not sure it really counts as shredding, but Chris Hannah from Propagandhi is probably the best damn guitar player in punk. His specialty is more complicated chords, but between him and Sulynn they put together some blistering solos.

The outtro to Back to the Motor League is probably my favorite, but there are some good ones off of the Supporting Caste and Potempkin City Limits albums.

I love Propagandhi. When Chris let's loose, it is a thing of beauty
