Give Tuta a look while you're at it, it's been serving me well.
Too bad they don't have an .onion site like proton does.

At the moment i'm getting mount error(13): Permission denied at the new vm (where i was attempting to mount).
dmesg has

[ 9254.003440] CIFS: Attempting to mount \\10.10.10.10\dir\\dir2
[ 9254.181314] CIFS: Status code returned 0xc000006d STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
[ 9254.181333] CIFS: VFS: \\10.10.10.10 Send error in SessSetup = -13
[ 9254.181367] CIFS: VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13

Attempting to ls the share in the other vm where it was previously working yields Host is down.
(Everyone else can access the share just fine.)

From my searching around for something similar, these showed up the most: TinyCore, Puppy, Porteus, Absolute, antiX (there's more).

If money is involved there's most likely KYC so... no?

At that point, it’s their property, no?

Not a lawyer.

That's not in the EU.

That's odd... all the projects i use document their install process fairly well, most of them using either cmake or autotools.

The only "terrible" scenarios i occasionally encounter is, yes, trying to automate the android toolchain - i blame Google though, not C/C++ as the Android toolchain is intentionally designed to be used with Android Studio and trying to veer of that is increasingly harder.

Even cross-compiling for windows isn't that bad.

Not even through about:config?

Back in the day airlines would charge you a premium to call from the plane.

300+ cellphones suddenly hogging an antenna as they roam by may be inconvenient for the carrier. Can you actully get reception up so high even?

If cellphones really did interfere with airplanes, there would've been a lot of crashes because of it, there's always a smart ass.

Can't answer, really.
i'm ok with Tutanota for mail, although Proton does have an .onion address whereas Tutanota does not.
Bitwarden for passwords.
No VPN but i'd go for IVPN.
