Oooh I'm looking forward to Starfield as well. I'm hoping it's a game I can get lost in. Also second d Deep Rock, it's an enjoyable time with friends for sure.

Sometimes I swear these headlines and stories are just made by running every rightwing "news" article and tv network through a large language model and using the prompt "What do rightwing voters want to hear?" Or "What will make the average global citizen angry?" ... And yet he says these things. Bombing their cities.. because Americans don't bomb their own cities or anything.... And what does stealing a farm entail?

I didn't watch it, but my 11 and 12 year old watched it. Twice. My 11 year old doesn't watch things twice, but he thought it was that good. So knowing nothing about the movie, I think it's worth your kids' time.

Thanks for the details about the story, if they watch it again I may join them and discuss it after with them and see what they think about the commentary on systemic oppression and how it's dealt with.

All those storms lately, I'm guessing you'll have a lot to sort through. Cool job though!

I hear the best way to get the right answer on the internet is to say something untrue and have someone correct you, so I am gonna say that yes, the administrator of your instance can see what you are subscribed to, or at the very least can see what users in their instance are subscribed to. (Please correct me someone if I am wrong)

We have all the windows open now, trying to get some of this moisture out. Nice to have the option to dry clothes outside however briefly.

Nah I'm in the city we don't really get snow here. They got some up Mt Hutt way a couple weeks ago I think, but not enough to do much with. Making their own to ski.

If it was heard in several towns and the shockwave was big enough to shake things, I imagine it was meteorological. Would be interested if someone collected timestamps from people's cameras around town to get a read on where it originated from. Likely could get an idea on how high it was too (if it was meteorological).

There are such things as these booms. They happen fairly regularly but has nothing to do with population so people just don't experience them often. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyquake

Work. Because of what's going on with clients this week, it's mostly prep work and data entry, which is kind of my favourite time: turn on some music and just plug away at it. You see progress and it's not stressful.

I think just posting the content (headline and link) here would be better than posting links to the reddit discussion.
