Suggestions for an SBC (or other kind of mini PC) that can connect to a USB-C dock? in c/hardware@lemmy.world

Instead of swapping the entire dock, I have a USB switch for mouse and keyboard and then an HDMI switch for the monitors. Also let's you mix and match monitors easily

Best option in price? No. Best option in coverage? Yes.

At least that was true at one point. Not sure if its still holds true today. For awhile they were basically the only ones with coverage in many rural areas.

Just throwing this out there on the flavored syrups side; most companies that I'd only previously known for latte syrups also make some good mixers. For instance Monin's lavender is awesome in carbonated water

Currently on an oil system that uses baseboard radiators throughout the house. Didn't realize a heat pump could potentially tie into the same system but am going to look into it now. Anything to watch out for in your experience?

Yeah the author talks about how on the old internet it was great that you'd just stumble across people on blogs\rss, mailing lists, and other things you subscribe to. Then just chucks all that to the side and sets up automated ways to force his work in front of people.

Trust me I wish we could go back. Not just to before llms became popular but back to when it took at least a little knowledge and effort to host things online. The internet used to be so cool and full of unique stuff.

Unfortunately though I fear the toothpaste is already out of the tube with llms.

As tempting as it might be, don't use AI in the learning stages. Spending time figuring out why your program isn't working is what really cements that knowledge in.

Edition of Book With Wrong ISBN Printed? (infosec.pub)
 

While cataloging our books my wife mentioned she had an ISBN she couldn't find online. Figured I'd take a shot at it and after diving in for an hour or two, I've got nothing official to point to. If anything it seems like a mis-print or possible double-assignment. I'm not expecting anyone here to do the work to find it. I more just want to know if this type of stuff is common and I might be looking for something that doesn't exist. Are ISBN and/or copyright mis-prints or mis-assignments more common than I (layman) realized?

If anyone does want to take a look, here is the info along with what I've scrounged up so far:

Title: Libra
Author: Don DeLillo
Format: Paperback
ISBN-10 (printed on book): 0965026040
ISBN-13 (printed on book): 9780965026048
Publisher: Quality Paperback Book Club

My notes:

  • I don't believe the ISBN-10 can be correct since the check digit on the end shouldn't be a 0 it should be a 3, right?

  • Searching by ISBN-13 and the corrected(?) ISBN-10 returns a different book on most ISBN DBs (isbnsearch, worldcat, amazon)

    • The other book is Russian Journal by Sarah Phillips
    • Worldcat returns entries for both books, showing them with the same ISBN numbers.

  • isbnsearch shows the registration information for Russian Journal but the cover art for Libra.

  • I've found a couple examples of this version of Libra for sale on used book sites with the wrong ISBN-10 info but I'm assuming that's just the seller entering what's printed on the book.

  • Not sure how relevant this is but I pulled up all of Bookspan's copyrights on copyright.gov and didn't see this one.

My current theory is that this ISBN belongs to Russian Journal and that this edition of Libra has mis-printed info. However, is there any way to confirm which book is incorrect?

Personally I always get excited by process automaton. Been a minute since I've done any VBA but my favorite projects I used it for were probably:

  1. Bulk updating CAD models and drawings as part of rebranding. (Solidworks)
  2. Interacting with a 5250 emulator (AS400) to automate the data entry/extraction I was doing
