I sang semi-professionally for quite a few years. Used to use in-ear monitors and they do a similar thing - you do get used to it pretty quickly, or at least it becomes less annoying!

Sounds like this morning's display was pretty decent, but expected to subside by tonight :(

Ooh, hadn't heard of the Night Manager. Looks good, Cheers!

Sounds like we have similar taste! Funnily enough, I couldn't get into Shogun though.

Oh man, such a good series.

I also enjoyed 11.22.63 - didn't realise they'd made a series of it. Nice.

There's some superb television in that series. Yes, the final season gets a bad rap, but it's still worth watching. Enjoy!

Holy crap, they're up to 16 seasons now? Unreal!

Doesn't get much better than this. Heart-rending, in the best possible way

Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So, how’s it going?

Picked up and older but excellent condition Giant Reign for my son - was a seriously expensive bike in its day, so it has fully adjustable everything.

I stripped down the rear shock to get some rust kill on the spring - no issues there. But, I wanted to reset the rates to stock. Stupidly, I backed the rebound damping adjuster all the way out - it's popped off whatever ratchet it was on in there, and the damping is now stuck at full. I can get the adjuster back in, but it's not reengaging with whatever it's supposed to.

Usually when I break shit, YouTube has the answer. Not this time! Any tips from the experts?!

Has everyone got theirs by now? Wife and parents have, mine's nowhere to be seen...

I don't have a good track record with sunglasses. Scratch them, break them, lose them, get super glue on the lenses (latest pair 🙄). So what's your recommendation for a decent budget brand where I can get a) good vision, b) polarised, c) UV rating?

Woop, first in for the day! What have you got planned? How's your day been so far? What's your top tip for a successful week ahead?!

Camera perspective is deceptive - my fellow caver here is still at least 20-30m from the bottom. The 60m rope we used only had about 5-6m left! Was an epic pitch, and we can't wait to get back in to survey the cave, and hopefully find more passage.

Not sure how many other parents there are here, but this has been ongoing for some months now with no end in sight. I actually wish there was more media coverage to raise awareness of the plight of our teachers.

Yes, it's frustrating to have our kids home while we're trying to work etc, and I worry about impact on their schooling (especially when 'normality' was starting to return post-COVID lockdowns) but I feel strongly that these teachers are absolutely getting the short end of the stick in the pay negotiations. Keep supporting them where you can, talk to your kids about the whys of what's going on and cross everything for a positive resolution soon!

My 2c anyway :-)
