Yes and no. It's not usually the fault of the programming language.

But programming languages have a unique ability: The design of the language itself can and will instill bad or good habits into the code of oneself. These languages are designed pretty deliberately, so those habits are a direct consequence of the design of a language. In fact, Sean Goedecke's own C-to-Rust example makes this point implicitly: Cantrill's port got faster not because the redesign was really clever, but because Rust's borrow checker and standard library actively steered him toward a more cache friendly Binary tree. There are probably many more examples out there that had a real world impact.

There are no bad languages, every language has its place somewhere. But design decisions matter.

Krita is a painting and sketching tool and lacks some photo editing capabilities that GIMP has. PhotoCraft is vibe coded (In itself not a bad thing, but many features are incomplete, such as PSD compatibility), I haven't tested the other ones yet. MiniPaint looks fun, but I'll need to test it out.

This.

GIMP may have good functionality (in GIMP 3.2), but it's a software designed by engineers. Most workflows are more complicated than they would need to be. Sadly, there currently isn't a real alternative for image manipulation out there currently, so we need to stick with what we have.

The freedom of speech in the USA is very individualistic, just like everything else. Little to no things are thought of in the sense of a community, it's all about what's in it for the individual. Traffic is even more car-centric than in Europe. Pure capitalism without a real safety net, because the individual may benefit from it by becoming a millionaire.

In Europe, the sense for community is much stronger, which is also reflected in how freedom of speech is protected in law; Express your thoughts freely, but do not impair the rights of other citizens.

What? It's written in Germany's constitution (The "Grundgesetz", literally "Basic law") in article 5 that "Every person shall have the right freely to express and disseminate his opinions in speech, writing and pictures".

It's amazing, it looks like it didn't rise a single millimeter.

This is what Minecraft in real life must look like
