I believe the internet was much smaller then. It existed, but most social hadn't really begun yet. I still only had dialup.

9/11 was 2001, Facebook was 2004. So definitely a different place.

$20 - change made by someone whose job was off-shored to save money

And yet, you have to pay for those molecules each time! What a scam...

Edit: this was a joke, which was misinterpreted by the OP, out of respect I have removed it.

Probably, but raspi only has one interface, and USB network cards can be flakey. You'll also not get outstandingly fast speeds, so ifnyour on a fast fibre connection you'll struggle to hit the full speed.

Lol, that is definitely not true. You may have a list, it almost certainly doesn't match everyone else's list.

And let's say we complete your list. What then? If things dont improve, do we lower the bar and try again?

"Testing"? The word they are looking for is "violating".

You can run an exit node on openwrt: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/tor/extras

Depending on your country's laws, you may be on the hook for any content that is accessed via your network. So all the child porn, extremist content etc, thats all possibly on you.

Hacking risk is minimal, but every additional service you run on your router increases its attack surface.

Does your button and light have high availability and regular backups and restores? If not, better keep engineering!
