Also, in theory they invest the money, which means that they have more money to pay out.

Unfortunately, with no regulation and oversight, they can also just not pay out at all. Perhaps the US should try regulating its capitalism just q bit :S

Unifi is local, with optional cloud. Very pricy though.

Esphome or ZigBee bulbs are the way to go, avoid tuya for WiFi bulbs

https://www.athom.tech/esphome

ZigBee bulbs I have gotten from aliexpress, they are usually pretty good, but you'll need a ZigBee antenna or bridge.

Tuya require a cloud connection, so best to avoid.

1 is impossible. You cannot screen every message sent, even screening every post would be a full time 24/7 job (3x full time moderators working in shifts).

The big platforms will run it through a blackbox content moderator system, and lobby to keep fines minimal. Lemmy would be screwed.

So we’ve established at the onset that Riot-owned broadcast and social channels will stay betting-free, which means no ads, no sponsored segments from betting partners, and no betting partner logos on team jerseys

Good, as it should be.

No mention of age controls, and I'm sure it'll be the scummiest of gambling companies (tautology?) that signup for this.

Riot has a lot of children who play their games, this is a really disappointing decision from them.

Very strong "I'm not racist, I have a black friend" vibes from this article. One actress 50 years ago is hardly progress.

Rather than trying to redeem/rewrite 007, why not spin off a new character instead. Might take some effort and skilled writing, but Amazon have money right?

Get/borrow a thermal camera, and use that to see where the heat is coming in. Some libraries have thermal cameras, but that might be rare. You can also get very cheap and nasty thermal cameras from Aliexpress for $60 AUD

Arch uses tmpfs for /tmp by default as well. At least on my.install from 2-3 years ago

I couldnt easily find financial data for Proton AG, but they are still tiny. 100m proton mail users vs 1.5b gmail users. If one of the really big players wanted to, I am sure they could make proton an extremely tempting offer.

Dont forget that 20 years ago, Google/GMail was well trusted as well, once Proton reaches a critical mass with sufficient lock-in, there is nothing stopping them going down the same path Google did.

I'll watch it, but only as I believe LMG has a right to reply. Their response to these allegations will be critical.

If they are smart, they'll have a demonitised WAN show, where they acknowledge the issues and outline their path forward. If they can't do that, I'll unsub.

"Madison's allegations were heard, and this is what we have done, and what we will do in the future"
