Unifi is local, with optional cloud. Very pricy though.

Esphome or ZigBee bulbs are the way to go, avoid tuya for WiFi bulbs

ZigBee bulbs I have gotten from aliexpress, they are usually pretty good, but you'll need a ZigBee antenna or bridge.

Tuya require a cloud connection, so best to avoid.

Could the CMOS battery have died in your laptop, which has caused it to not detect the SSD? I have seen a dell laptop do that, and the AHCI/RAID setting caused it to not boot as well. Perhaps check if your BIOS setting for UEFI boot/legacy boot setting has also changed?

As for replacement, a new SSD is a cheap debugging step, and worst case you can put it in an enclosure and use it as a portable disk. I would try replace the SSD (after ruling out the legacy boot settings).

I don't think laptop prices are coming down any time soon, so if all else fails, you may just have to suck it up. Perhaps checkout second hand marketplaces?

Ideally you want a balance of both, pure people skills ends with poor technical decisions, pure technical ends with inability to get the other employees on board.

It's very sad. He had some brilliant ideas, with a bit of mental health support he could have done incredible things. RIP :(

Should be fine, the UUIDs are specified in the filesystem's themselves. They shouldn't change unless your filesystems get corrupted.

Upgrade away, should all work fairly flawlessly.

So we’ve established at the onset that Riot-owned broadcast and social channels will stay betting-free, which means no ads, no sponsored segments from betting partners, and no betting partner logos on team jerseys

Good, as it should be.

No mention of age controls, and I'm sure it'll be the scummiest of gambling companies (tautology?) that signup for this.

Riot has a lot of children who play their games, this is a really disappointing decision from them.

I think they just advertised how trivial it would be to take their website down...

I couldnt easily find financial data for Proton AG, but they are still tiny. 100m proton mail users vs 1.5b gmail users. If one of the really big players wanted to, I am sure they could make proton an extremely tempting offer.

Dont forget that 20 years ago, Google/GMail was well trusted as well, once Proton reaches a critical mass with sufficient lock-in, there is nothing stopping them going down the same path Google did.

Do you bring your ranked energy to casuals? I've been on the other side of this for League. Playing with someone who is going to get sweaty and intense in a game I am not great at is not fun.

I'll watch it, but only as I believe LMG has a right to reply. Their response to these allegations will be critical.

If they are smart, they'll have a demonitised WAN show, where they acknowledge the issues and outline their path forward. If they can't do that, I'll unsub.
