What are the other 3% doing right?
That is a strong stance. What about clip on earings?
You should check your brakes as well :D
Surely thats what he is trying to do.
- "I can't hire anyone locally, even with high salary"
- Gov approves H1B visas
- "Well, they are H1Bs, I shouldn't have to pay them a high salary"

Facebook Fact Check©: I'm not paid enough to check this, probably true
You're not wrong. Ive had all those experiences as well :(
I think i disagree. There are definitely breaking changes between distro upgrades, even if they are under the hood changes.

~~For 23.10, glibc changed version, if a user is running a binary that explicitly links against an older version, that binary will not work anymore. I would like to live in a world without these kind of binaries, but they exist, and users do rely on them.~~ edit: not entirely true.
In a future release, Python 2 is going to be removed. There are thousands of python2 only scripts still floating around, the drop of python2 is going to hurt someone.
I think we lie to ourselves a bit about the reliability of upgrades, they are often flawless, but definitely not always. Fixing the issues can be easy for seasoned linux users, so we can tend to fix and forget. (This is not a dig at anyone, I am guilty of this as well)
I see where your coming from, with the desire to avoid overly concerning new users, but I dont think changing the terminology here is the answer.
I would prefer to keep the existing terminology and instead fix the messaging to make it clear that while there may be a risk, it is a minimal risk.

Had a tailstrike (tail hit the runway during landing), was repaired, 7 years later the repair later failed in flight and fully crashed. Dunno if a tailstrike counts as a crash though.
It is a high bar, but so is "best for most people".
Like i said, its getting better and better, but i dont think its anywhere near close to "best for most".
As for anecdotes, my dad has been using Linux for years professionally, and occasionally needs help fixing something that broke in an update. Ill have to pry Win7 away from my mum at some point.
I think we need to be very careful making these kind of bold claims, as it can end up sounding very silly if it turns out to be untrue. "Year of the linux desktop", "Mission accomplished", etc.
I've got a couple of induction stove tops. They mostly use 2kw max, but pulse on and off to emulate lower power levels. So if you can't supply 2kw, you'll not have a good time.
I have run one on a 2kW inverter and an AGM battery.

They are dirt cheap, so not a huge risk if it doesn't work.
