WINED LOVER RIDES - probably not wrong, but interesting name for their variable :D
There is a difference between feature development and distro maintenance/packaging.
Feature development is done upstream and does flow down to others.
Distro maintenance and packaging is downstream, and almost never provides value to other distros. It usually doesn't even provide value to the next release. Distro maintenance is a hard, thankless Sisyphean task.
Well, yeah. Its pretty well established that there is fairly limited resources in open source. Loads of software engineers, very few contributors.
The claims are well into the "I found a unicorn" territory, I'm tipping its either "If you misconfigure this, its unsafe", or its a real vuln, and its significantly harder to exploit that they are claiming.
Where do you intend on sourcing the films from? Netflix/YT/Prime/🏴☠️/DVD? Rotate through a set of sources?
Cool idea though, count me in if the films are accessible.

Don't worry, it'll be dead or renamed within a year.
I don't really care about the quality issues, it's not why I watch LTT vids anyway. They are entertainment first, factual second. When labs is live I'll worry about the quality.
But issues such as the ones described can really spoil their image, and I don't want to watch content associated with those kind of problems.
If your doing android work, you'll be running Android studio and likely an emulator. Both love ram. Get 16gb if you can afford it. I believe many newer laptops are going with unupgradable ram, you'll need to check the specific laptop carefully.
Cores will also be loved by Android studio and the emulator.
Check the video out put options as well, you'll likely want an external monitor at some point, the benefits of dual (and triple) monitors can't be overstated.
If your concerned about cost, maybe look for second hand stuff? But lots of cores and lots of RAM will be worth it in the long run.
So instead of cloudflare, bunny.net is their single point of failure? Diversity is important here, and the over-reliance on cloudflare is a problem, but they haven't solved anything.
