Perhaps a slightly less doom-and-gloomy scenario (because not all muslims hate women): in many muslim cultures it's expected that a relationship turns into a marriage quickly. A non-muslim colleague of mine started dating a muslim girl and her family was totally supportive of the relationship, but he did have to marry her within just a couple months of dating. They were both happy to do so but they're a fair bit older than you are. Your girlfriend might not feel ready for such a thing.

Talk to her about it, and ask if she's worried about her family's reaction, what she expects and why. Don't pressure her into introducing you to the family, but clarify that you'd just like to know why. You can express you'd like to meet them of course, but just remember that her decision should be final in all this. That will help your relationship going forward, and once she is ready for it you'll get to meet them.

Nuclear doesn't make sense for that purpose because it'd have to quickly be able to spin up and down. Most reactor designs aren't really able to do it quickly in normal operations, and those that can can't do so in a way that makes any economic sense. They're financially outcompeted by their alternatives.

The financial case for nuclear today is shoddy at best. It's why no company wants to touch it with a ten-foot pole unless heavy government subsidies are involved. The case for nuclear in ten years is, given the continuous advancements in renewable energy costs and battery storage tech, almost certainly dead.

People seem to be downvoting you but you're absolutely right. Languages are dynamic and evolve all the time. The language "rules" are merely descriptive; they explain how most people use the language, and if you want to make sure everyone can understand you it's best to follow them.

Even then there's some wiggle-room. Take the gif/jif pronunciation debate, it was coined as "jif" but the majority of people switched to "gif". So (depending on the dictionary you own) it will often either list just "gif" as correct, or list both as equally valid pronunciations (which given the sizeable minority for "jif" seems like the correct approach imo). All the gift/giraffe/creator-says-x is just fluff and not actually all that relevant.

At the company I work at we use UUIDv7 but base63 encoded I believe. This gives you fairly short ids (16 chars iirc, it includes lowercase letters) that are also sortable.

Also important: the shows show a very personal narrative about the protagonist enduring oppression themselves. The media does occasionally try to show that, but it's hard to empathise from a distance with experiences so traumatic.

Not really. Their sources explicitly talk about disinformation and information based on true info but misconstrued to mislead people into false or pro-Putin narratives. But this "report" continues to frame this as if they're trying to censor credible, unbiased and factual reporting, which is a claim their source does not support.
