Linus didn't shit on Linux as a whole, come on. Last time he tried Pop was over a year ago, he figured something might've changed in the meantime. And he did research what could be causing the issues (and found a fix for L4D2), and did also mention that overall the system was intuitive, installing it was fairly simple and he enjoyed not having his data being sold. He also said that all his devices were plug-and-play, no driver downloading shenanigans required. But of course he is going to highlight the issues he runs into, it's kind of the point of the video to show that not all experiences with Linux are seamless, and you can get radically different results depending on your chosen distro.

Doubtful. Librewolf still uses Firefox as base.

So this is the application form:

Mamdani was born in Uganda to a Ugandan father and an Indian (Gujarati) mother. Which box would you tick?

Mamdani opted to tick "Black/African American" as well as "Asian", and at the "Other" box wrote "Ugandan".

I personally fail to see the problem. Given the constraints of these boxes, this seems to be the most accurate way of describing his ethnicity? Am I missing something here? Why is NYT presenting this as an issue at all?

Trump saying he's white despite him being orange seems like a bigger discrepancy.

Valve didn't decide to pull it, and the game is still downloadable if you purchased it before.

That's likely just the overflow drain?

It seems unlikely that a Muslim Israeli is in favour of what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza.

If you want to insist that those in favour of what the Israeli government is doing must necessarily be Jewish, feel free to, but that seems fairly antisemitic in and of itself.

Ofc these people in the video are morons. As a healthcare worker you have a duty to medically assist anyone imo.

How do you define "closer" here? I'm about 1.8m removed from the size of an atom but well over 299 thousand kilometers from a light second.

IIRC it's no longer true, but there was a time when the largest bicycle parking in the world was at Utrecht Centraal (the central train station).

The second-largest bicycle parking was on the other side of that same station.

But the barrier to entry for publishing a game on Steam is super-low, it's honestly dead simple. And even though Steam takes a sizeable cut, they do tons of work in exchange w.r.t. promotion, distribution, community management, the modding workshop, Steam Input, testing Steam Deck compatibility, etc..

For indies it's one of the easiest routes to publish a game. And given the relative success of indies on Steam, it seems to work quite well.

I didn't say he was armed

Rittenhouse was, so that's what my analogy is using too.

Meaning that, just like in Rittenhouse's case, the fact that someone is openly armed is mundane and not a cause for concern in and of itself, at all.

Someone walking around openly armed is absolutely not mundane at all. If it's police it's a minor cause for concern, if it's an untrained civilian who looks underage, it's much greater cause for concern. If he's walking around at a protest to supposedly "protect businesses", he's a clear and direct danger. What the law says doesn't change what he can do with a weapon like that, and thus what threat he poses.

Rittenhouse provoked no one

You're unaware of the basic facts of the case. Drone video clearly showed Rittenhouse pointing his weapon at people, repeatedly. This direct threat to others is what eventually provoked Rosenbaum into trying to take his gun off him. After Rittenhouse neutralised him by shooting his pelvis, he then decided to execute him on the spot, which was well beyond self-defense. He then shot two others who believed him to be an active shooter (and he demonstrated he was by killing one of them).

You can't expect to go to a protest, heavily armed, pointing your gun at people and expect people to be all okiedokie about that. It's a clear provocation.
